Being a nosy mechanical type, I open them up and check the guts. Most nowadays are using some sort of standard micro-switch.
Hint, check the specs on the marked on switch, it might be different than the external label. If you find they are using bendy brass strips for the contacts… get rid of it.
I got rid of my digital timers, too many problems with power glitches zapping the programming. Analog all it way Baby!
