Have you grown any out?

I haven’t had the chance yet unfortunately. It was a cross I made just from opportunity when the chance arose. Curious how many of the traits it’ll keep from the Durban, should definitely have a longer flowering time than normal cultivars

It sounds pretty f-ing cool!
So many decisions…

Durban is still alive. Tiny yet, but above ground. Will get pics once they are worthy.

i am impressed this thread is still up and going.
What happen the the Durban that i ran. the seeds i started with were 5, 3 came to say hello while the other 2 never woke.
the 3 that stayed were most likely way too small for what they should have or wanted to become.
The tallest was almost 5 ft, the other 2 were small in at around only 4 ft?
they grew no branches, they looked rough, and were in flower maybe 5 weeks?
i was frustrated and did the chop. I chopped them like most i needed the room. i chopped because the indicas looked much better. i chopped because the plant were not happy with their environment.

i would try again with more room both height and roots were limited, as these were indoors with a height restriction.

How have you been @Upstate

Busy season has begun. A seed packaging scramble and then it’s balls to the wall the next 5 months😁I love this time of year.
Hopefully I come up with something worthy of the Durban name.

Sounds like these will reach for the sky. I’m guessing you must have had them in small containers so they were tall and narrow?
What have you been working with lately?

@Upstate been working lots with mostly faster flower stuff just to fill some jars then back to some longer running strains.
right now im doing the mess around with a purple punch, a glue, jam pearl, testing some crosses i made last few grows ago.
mostly though im filling jars. good smoke doesnt last much around me. im still looking for that old piney stuff, and will get back into the landrace hunt again, the good stuff worth waiting for. i may mess with a devils tit x Oaxaca gold i made a bit back. im curious you know.

I love that pine pot, too. Lebanese is loaded with pine. Kashmir is pine/ mint. Peshawar is pine/ piss. Tirah can be piney/ minty.
That Devils tit Oaxaca Is one I planned as well. It almost has to be epic. Cryptic labs gave me a Oaxaca /Durban, which is likely similar. Great minds think alike as I made that last year, too, but with a different Durban. I’'d actually had that hybrid planned for quite a few years now. He actually used the Durban I was going to use but couldn’t find at the time. I will be making It again this summer with the 73 Durban and Old Silversides.
Generic seeds kashmir was the piney one. All pine and mint. I found a wonderful pine plant a couple years ago. If you’re up for growing a few I could probably find the seeds pretty quick. I would be looking to replace the seeds though…I give 10, give me back 10

I forgot Oaxaca! Oaxaca has strong pine phenos.
I need to fill jars myself. My " seedless" Tirah plants were pretty well peppered with Peshawar pollen, which greatly affected yield. Now I’m real low in the old stash department

what seeds would you like for the kashmir?? i never ran this one and always have planned. i wouldnt be able to get to them until after summer though, but you know me they prob. get started sooner. i am still sexing a lot of things as well. do you want me to make more of the seed?

i did a purple thai haze x oaxaca as well, that should be nice as well.

Yeah, that sounds good. I crossed Oaxaca to Lemon Thai and I’ve got three up and testing now. I’m thinking it could be a winner, too. I also hit a Goji with the LT and have two of them growing. :slightly_smiling_face:

hey @GMan hows things? nice. yeah lemon thai is nice and i bet those crosses are too. have you tasted any of the flower yet?

No, they’re still in Solo cups. I need to pot them today or tomorrow. We got a hell of a snowstorm overnight so I may wait till tomorrow. It might clear off enough theis afternoon to get them done. I can’t wait to try them. Gonna be a while though. I wonder how much it’ll change the flower time. LT is about a 9 week plant I think.

Have you been able to try your cross yet? I have a feeling the Oaxaca may be magic when breeding with it.

Funny story about Purple Durban '79

PURPLE DURBAN POISON

In 1979 a once only shipment of Purple Durban Poison came in that was something else. This stuff was extraordinary to say the least. Rich Violet purple in appearance it looked like nothing else that had ever been imported before. Even the buds were not too compressed and looked a picture when pulled of the top of the small bricks they came in. The aroma was a spicy acrid and aniseed aroma with rich but subtle hashish undertones. This bud freaked everyone out that smoked it. IT was the only bud that I could truly class as hallucigenic. Heavy smokers would see altering colors and have vivid audible hallucinations on it all the time. It would get you so stoned that you didn’t know WTF was happening no matter how hardened a smoker you were. Novices would have fully blown visual and audible hallucinations on it. In the brief period that it was available, many novice and weak minded smokers were rushed to casualty wards of hospitals here in a state of absolute delirium and panic. All had to have a shot of pure Valium to calm them down and numerous had to be admitted for ‘observation’ for weeks before they were released. This was reported through all NEWS media at the time and traced up by the Police from the excessive amount of hospitalization cases that had occurred. They tracked down numerous small samples of it and had them analysed in fear of them being chemically laced. The report came back and all samples tested consistently in excess of 28%THC with absolutely ZERO other psychoactive ingredients in them. It was a pure cannabinoidal delight - I loved it, it made me more intact rather than freak me out. Others were freaking out into the Twilight zone with it, I was smoking it and spending days frolicking through the extremes of THC-land with a smile on my face that I have never forgotten. This stuff was simply unbelievable. I have not had anything as good as that since those days. it was the only dope that has ever made me feel like I was a detached observer of my surrounding reality. Like I was outside of my body looking at what I could see with my eyes and at the same time I even see myself in that same view. Freaky is not the word, a far more befitting phrase would be ‘divine fumar - heavenly smoke’. I saw mates who had smoked near everything in their time and who were use to smoking 7g of the finest homegrown fully matured sativa per day melt like wax on this stuff. Heart palpitations, hyperventilation, cold sweats and white faced on just 2 small cones mixed with 30% tobacco. All the bad initial effects of the body and mind suddenly realising what an overdose of THC they’d just been given was followed by a 4hour period bliss that would leave them breathless tapering off for another 2 hours after that.
