1996 seeds - Got 2 to germinate

They are planted ! Will be taking the sex tests for 7 of them , 2 of them didn’t look to too ready so I didn’t plant them , but off to a good start - a few of them already lost their shell in the towel , so we should see some sprouts by tomorrow

Just caught up to the tread, definitely was an intriguing read. Pulling up a chair to see the future of the mysterious “1996” strain lol

Seems like the vigor is carrying , these are some fast seedlings , but could be my environment as well, but they are definitely fast and looking cool, the cotyledons are more round then I’m used to seeing , and quite hairy - with the nice rigid starter leaf with a nice green vein thru it :pray:t3:

Also I’m still obsessed with how the Male leaves look, if you’re tired of me yet - I apologize but - I’m on a mission :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’ll have a lot more info and pictures with this round being flowered in the first - will be flowering 2 of the Original female of rhe 1996 & I’ll be flowering the few females (if any) from the 7 I planted to also flower this round , so I’ll be able to update more on the terps with the additives I didn’t use for breeding , sulfur treatments for terps etc - & what I think the male had added as well - coming soon! I wish I could give more info as of now but I’m going off a wim & what’s in front of me , it’ll be entirely impossible to pinpoint the genetics thru just pictures and old grows - 90’s environments and gear compared to 2024 etc , but I will do my best to update as much as I can , and more excited to get the flower run started so I can dive a bit deeper into things as well

sounds good, do you use any molasses products with the sulfur for the terps?

Going to be using

TPS Signal as a foliar for veg and early flower & feedings & foliars of photosynthesis plus , I haven’t played around with sugars before - but I’m wanting too - a bud told me to try Budcandy or something if they nature - but it would be smart to feed my microbes - I kinda just always let them do there thing with what I fed them + occasionally feed of recharge

I would highly recommend some bud candy or sweet. I just picked some of this stuff really like it and it was cheaper

This is awesome. Been trying to germ seeds from the 70s-90s I have and no luck yet. This kinda gives me some hope.

damn! that is crazy. I typically dont have any luck with fresh seeds germinating. They usually need to dry out for at least a month.
some fun vitality going on here!

That’s what I was thinking ! I didn’t expect them to even pop , but was worth a try since there’s an abundance in the plant - I’m super stoked , and if they are as vigorous as the M&f then they should be right on time for flower :hibiscus:

Serrations looking interesting already , none of these had the mutant weird behavior the 28 year old seeds had , so maybe the mutant trait was just from being old seeds ? But who knows - so far all the ones that have popped above are normal looking and , looking to be interesting

About to reset the female & take some extra clones to throw outside just to see how it does with outdoors as well, mom stock is super healthy so wanted to get in there and reset and get some prime clones to throw outside :trophy:

Chopped down the 1996 female @ 53

She’s a fast finisher & was just dying on the vine and seeds where falling onto the tray and coco below - with about 90% mature seeds i didn’t mind chopping her down early - it was only one medium sized planted - Pollinated early - but I just needed a good bit so I could hunt thru them & make the f3s & maybe work on using the male some more and making Bx as well

Also I spoke to early :joy:the ones I planted already they are starting to form some crazy leaves , not as drastic but still cool - so that male def is adding to the serrations , which I was hoping for
