I got curious and looked into the polls weāve conducted in the past. Most of them were done between 2017 and 2019, and the topics are pretty scattered.
But time passes, and Iād be very interested to find out how our community evolves.
Iām super stoked to announce our very first OG community census!
Iāve thrown in some more chill and detailed questions to dive into areas we havenāt really explored yet.
Ready to Get It On?
Head over and fill out the census below! Itāll be open until New Yearās Eve, so donāt be shy and make your voice heard!
Note: All results will be shared once the census is complete. Responses to each question will be presented as pie charts, and no individual participants will be identified.
If you feel inspired, donāt hold back. Feel free to share additional thoughts about content, marketing, or anything else youād like to elaborate on beyond the provided options.
You donāt need to finish it all at once. Start now, come back later, and youāve got until the very last second (midnight, 12/31/2024) to tweak or update your responses. Just be sure to participate so we can reflect all OG growersā voices accurately!
Thanks for participating! I canāt wait to see what you all have to say.
Joe
Note that in the āInterestsā section of the census, the first question is about cannabis-related products you are interested in. You MUST have each of the numbers, 1 thru 6 with no doubles, in order to be allowed to vote.
This is the first community census that Iāve participated in, and I really appreciate it, @LemonadeJoe!
I was in the Introduce Yourself thread before I saw this thread, and I was thinking to myself how OG seems to be growing faster than say one year ago. I wonder if thatās whatās actually happening or if Iām just high? HA! Seriously, it does seem to me that I welcome more new members now than previously. I both wonder and worry about that (the growth rate).
As always, thank you so much, Joe, for heading up the best weed growing site anywhere!
I didnāt see a spot to give it some love in the poll, so want to add that I really love the Advanced Techniques section, and one of the highest values of this community for me is that it helps me find and apply research and techniques that are beyond the basics and which are new or may not have been widely shared.
The other thing I love is finding people here who share my high plant nerd enthusiasm level, and folks who know more than I do. In meat suit life, I occasionally find a deeply geeky plant person, and sometimes one who grows cannabis, but no where else have I actually found other cannabis science geeks in a community committed to being non-toxic.
Right along with that, I value the āthereās lots of great ways to growā approach here.
Thanks @LemonadeJoe and all who contribute here. I hope this and my poll answers are helpful.
In terms of marketing efforts, Im always a bit skeptical of company sponsorships. Ive seen them on other forums and often they turn into echo chambers with comparisons to competitors not being allowed and dissenting opinions or negative feedback being censored. I understand why a company would want that, but it doesnt benefit the end user/consumer.
Thats not to say there cant be good sponsorships that benefit the community. The website cocoforcannabis is a good example of this with their lighting comparisons. They present a statistical analysis of each light with some user comments, but they focus mostly on empirical comparisons with clear testing protocols
