If you keep the BG mowed off close to ground level, will that slowly exhaust the roots?

Since itās been mostly empty in fall, my gardener has been weed wacking it super close. If I wanted to get rid of it. I would probably have to solarize my entire yard for a year. Donāt know if you have Bermuda grass, but itās not like sod type grass. It is vine like and at every node it grabs and roots down to another spot. Itās worse than an invasive weed. I hate it. Itās my absolute nemesis out there.
I was thinkung it was like a rhizome type grass, if the case plz donāt rotortlil then it would be like chopping up all your comfrey and and having hundreds of new plants
Nothing else I can do to prepare the plot. I have to till in 3 week increments until I plant and bring up and burn as many roots and seeds as possible with the exposure
Make sure to let the tiller do the work and not the other way around once it digs in at full depth I let it sit and spin until the soil is very loose then slowly let it inch forward letting it get nice and chopped kinda fineā¦if there is alot of grass and weeds let the tiller kind of tear it up with out digging in too deep then a leaf rake will quickly sweep it up into a pile so It doesnāt mix in to the soil to much ā¦donāt worry about weed or grass wrapping around the tiller blades too much it can easily be cut off
I would love nothing more than to have the veggie plot notill. The living beds we dug out last winter are so awesome. The soil is so soft you could stick your whole arm in there. The veggie plot isnāt exactly sectioned off so, the backyard grass will find itās way back into it no matter what I do. Regardless of tilling, half way through the season I will have to dig it up with a shovel too. Even through the damn mulch. The bermuda grass is like one of Danteās Circles of Hell
So native soil is still high on P & K and low on Calmag. The iron and zinc levels are off here too. Probably gonna mix some of the native with the veggie plot dirt and add whatever else. Iāll see what the soil guy says. Hereās the labs recommendations
Your FE is up there alsoā¦ do you have the red clays out there?
I donāt recall it being red when we dug up the planters last year. Iāll ask Dad again next we speak. He did the digging on that one. lol
Iām also worried now that my Gramps got Alzheimerās from eating too many heavy metals in his veggies from all his years of farming out there. Thinking Iām only gonna grow flowers and cannabis from here on out. No food at least until those FE levels come down. Eventually, I can make a new raised bed if I need to grow veggies.
@%#$^&* HFS MFR! Youāre on top of a MINE!!!
Or their equipment is all rusty! WTF?!
Smoke review of OHGA Amnesia Haze x Orange Goji
Smell, not super strong. Orange tangy scent but also a subtle sweetness on the bottom like a creamsicle smell the goji coming through without the skunky, spicy of the true strain, also a subtle musty tone like old books, also get a slight hint of diesel (to me diesel smells like cat piss) and a bubblegum scent. Off the bat, as I have tried both strains separately, I prefer the loud stinky smell of the Orange Goji. Although that could be a preference thing as I love loud smells in my weed and the OG reminded me of Skunk #1 on steroids in scent and nostalgia.
My nugs were smashed, but very dense, even after fluffing my grinder had a rough time. Nice and sticky, had to break it down further with my fingers. Took the first hit out my clean water pipe with an added ice cube. Coughed like a mofo. It could be me taking to big of a hit. Iāll get back to that when I start the joint I rolled.
Flavor is citrusy but not sour with a very herbal finish. Mild pleasant flavor from the joint, slight chemical on the top, but mostly taste light herbs, thyme maybe or lavender at the end. Not over the top in taste, but pleasant. Def smokes smooth in the joint.
The high on this one feels very haze like, which for me is usually the opposite effect than most people. Leans very Indica like, the first hit, I felt it literally spread in a tingle from head to toe then lingered for some reason in my calves for longer than the rest before it eventually spread to an all over vibrating body buzz. The physical sensation of this strain overwhelms my head high a bit. Feeling very calm, focused and clear headed, but colors are brighter and feel a general sense of well being. Peaceful really. Not sleepy, but lazy feeling. Iād call it nice anxiety/depression bud with pain relief. On that note, the sativa is coming through with no introverted thoughts. Those of you who suffer depression with me, get the importance of this.
That sounds like it would be right up my alley. Itās definitely one Iām looking forward to in the very near future.
I enjoy your smoke reports
From the store!?!
this canāt be
Nah, I gave a seed to a friend, trying theirs
Didnāt get a chance to call the amendment guy. Next week. Dad is coming by tmw to put the tiller together . May make the first pass at the veggie patch if we beat the rain thatās coming again
I also find the strains that put me into my head do not generally produce a good timeā¦ Thanks for the detailed smoke report, sounds like a nice strain!
All my years of smoking and this will be the first time Iāve ever tried Gorilla Glue this one is GG 4. I literally write these as I test them, so if they start succinct and fade off into nonsense youāll know how high I amā¦ To be honest, I am a tad nervous as this is supposed to be a really high thc strain. Weāll see if itās too strong for me, but I am generally okay with strong sativas so we shall seeā¦ I never look up a strain before I review it as I donāt want to be influenced in anyway. What I already know about GG is that the strain was created by accident by a herm and can have a high herm rate, supposed to be super sticky and super high thc level. Also, someone mentioned a chocolate terpene to me.
First thing I noticed is the pretty color, light green with some orange hairs and yeah itās sticky as hell. Fingertips are like tape after rolling a joint. Not a super stinky strain, Iād say medium stank factor. Itās tangy smelling and kind of peppery and can identify the musty smell now as chocolate on the bottom note. I honestly wouldnāt have been able to put a finger on it, if I hadnāt heard it somewhere before. But itās there. I believe itās the same musty smell aka chocolate that I smelled on last nightās strain I tried. The texture of this bud is exactly like the strawberry diesel I grew last year. Like fluffy but smooshes together really tight, like spongy or something. If I had a blind test I would guess it was a diesel just by feel and look alone without the cat piss (diesel) smell. All I have is bud, but Iām gonna say it has to be a sativa just by the bud structure.
The taste is nice. Itās tangy, some specifically unidentifiable citrus with a strong chemical/solvent/gas like taste on the top aka on the roof of my mouth. Iām not picking up much bottom notes on this one. It just finishes clean with not much lingering taste on my tongue. The top notes are strongest on this one. Reminds me of a diesel in this regard too.
So far, Iām even more clear headed than last night. Wonder if thatās how THC affects me. Everything is very sharp and crisp. So far no raciness, but def a head high. No body buzzing on this one. Personal preference wise, I prefer no buzzing. I know other people really love that feeling. Iām not feeling super highā¦ waiting to see if this oneās a creeper before I smoke more. From all the hype with the high thc level on this one, Iām sitting here wondering why Iām not really loaded. I think itās just the difference between sativa and indica. Iām a pretty seasoned sativa smoker. For as much goo and sticky factor on this bud, I expected more. Been waiting a bit, still no body high, at least not in this pheno. Itās not a creeper. Itās just a clear headed high. I actually enjoy it, just for the sake of being high. Wouldnāt throw this strain into a medical category. Not enhancing my mood much. Feel more like I want to be alone and read or watch tv. Not feeling social from it. Good social distancing and being alone with yourself bud. All in all, I feel this strain was overhyped. Iād put it middle of the road bud. Good, pleasant, but unremarkable, reminds me of a diesel. I think I prefer it to diesel though, as so far no munchies.
Iām glad I tried it and am enjoying it, but it wouldnāt be the first jar I picked up if I had other choices. Curious to know other peoples experiences with it as some strains have exact opposite effects on me.
Iād say that I agree with most of that, although I definitely detect a strong chocolate note, especially after a good long cure.
I often describe it as āpotent but boringā, but I donāt always mean it in a bad way. I actually rather like the near absence of a body high (for me, wife disagrees) and the fact that the high is a bit bland means that there are a lot of situations where smoking it isnāt a drawback.
I definitely like to have a jar around so that itās one of many options as I do find it relaxing, but other than being beautifully frosty, I never got the hype. Itās better breeding material than smoking material, imo.
I too am just fine without the body high. Had no problem with that element. Actually had no problems with the strain at all. I believe I just had delusions of grandeur based on the hype. I was expecting it to be much stronger and blow my hair back I guess. At least as strong as dragons blood Hashplant, but not even close. I believe I have a tastebud blindspot for the chocolate. It was hard for me to detect here. Although I do not know how long it was cured before I tried it
