2020 Cannabis with Meesh

So GDP #2 has a few mutated leaves. I’m hoping she won’t be the only female that I have to choose from. I’ll stick her in the ground if she is the only one, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. For some reason I believe I have at least 2 females of the 3 GDP. It’s too early to tell, but my gut says…

have you considered putting the potted ones in the garage to shorten day-length for 2-3 days & then back out to normal…should help reveal gender. :package: :first_quarter_moon_with_face:

I’m starting to think that I’m not sure I care to sex them at this point. The summer solstice is less than a month away. They are gonna show me their sex right after that on their own. As soon as that happens it will be time to top and prune them. Me thinks in veg they are so damn easy to tend to, it’s not bugging me to feed and water them every once in awhile. They are easy peasy right now. As a matter of fact, they aren’t even getting nutes yet, still working off the soil. I kick them down some kelp every once in awhile and Mammoth P every week though. I should probably see how long they’ve been in these pots now. Probably start them on some fish fert soon and transplant the 2 Fems into their final 10 gallon homes and uppot the baby Spectral Tangerines.

So GDP #2 is getting weirder. There is something wrong with this f2… Look at this strangeness 2 leaves on the same stem. The stem looks like 2 of them fused together. This plant also has other weird leaves.

never seen that before - definitely weird

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna compost this one. lol

Transplanted the baby Spectral Tangerines today. They could have stayed in their starters a bit longer but I said screw it, they started late so I’m hoping they will catch up faster with some nutrient rich soil.

I had contemplated running more autos outside this year, but I’m just not feeling it. Think I have enough plants in pots right now to tend too and I have no shortage of bud. It’s possible I’ll change my mind once the rest of the plants go in the ground. To be quite honest, I have a container plant issue as well. I have like 35 or so regular potted plants outside along with all my flower beds. Need more container plants like I need a hole in my head. Did I mention that I made a bunch of new ones this year too? EEK! Hi, I’m Meesh and I’m a plantaholic…

The OG of skunk plants. How could it possibly go wrong? :green_heart:

Wait…Don’t answer that.

The old Meesh, would throw it in a pot and see what happens, but this Meesh already grew out like 5 mutant autos that didn’t even result in coal let alone diamonds.  Plus, I def can’t have any problem childs in flower. Damn near killed me last year. It’s already a boat load of work.

I had a Cuvee do that … not as defined as yours but would grow 2 leaves from one petiol … actually got really good flower off that… dont be so hasty to chuck it

I’m going to go with the culling it camp. You have plenty of other plants, and likely even some from last season left. Save the time and energy for the big/healthy plants.

As far as sexing them, the solstice is still three weeks away. You could easily have them all sexed by then.

How big does a branch need to be to sex it? They are really small and just started branching

You probably want a branch with a couple of nodes. Scrolling back, those plants are a bit small to be taking cuttings from still.

That’s what I was thinking. By the time they have enough nodes, the cutting will show me sex right when the plants themselves do.

On another note… the fems in the ground seem like they bushed out over night. Oddly enough, they don’t seem taller (but I’m sure they are), but fatter and bushier. Everything is moving along nicely. They were bigger at this time last year I believe. However, I don’t think it’s gonna make much difference. Talking to Dad, we both agreed that even if they end up smaller than last year, say 5 to 6 feet instead of the 8 to 10 feet, we don’t mind at all. As we will still get more than any of of could smoke in a year anyway. They will also be easier to deal with in flower. Smaller is just wishful thinking, my guess is they will turn into monsters anyway. lol

absolutely. I wait until the last minute to cull. I hate killing plants on purpose. lol For some reason, the more I look at the GDP’s compared to the others, I really think they are all gonna be females, if not then at least 2 of them. The UFS, Cackleberrys and Orange Gojis however most make me think they are males. It’s possible I may not get a female out of all of the strains. If that happens, there may be more than one of the same strain going in the ground. Wouldn’t that be a bitch if every plant out there is male? I shouldn’t have even said that out loud. May have jinxed it. lol

The more I think on this… if say I got a high percentage of males. I may want to put my practice Bruce Banger and the other OG Kush in the ground instead of growing them in 10 gallon fabric pots. So, I’ll wait until I know the sex of all the plants before I put in their final home.

Just a funny weed story about my strawberry diesel bud from last year’s harvest. When I first started smoking it, I got the munchies on a level that I’ve never experienced before in all my bud smoking years. I literally made myself stop eating (it was hard) because I thought I was gonna burst my stomach. You literally are full and still can’t stop eating.

I got a text from my Dad a few months back saying he had woken up and had to check if there was paint still left on the walls because in his words he ate everything in the goddam house.

Recently, my lady friend who lives in the high desert came by as she was out of bud in between grows and I can’t stand my friends spending money at the dispensary when I am so flush. 2 weeks later I get a text from her saying she had spent the last 2 days on the strawberry diesel eating everything in the house. Hahahahahahaha! Oops! Forgot to mention that.

Here’s the really strange part. After a few weeks of smoking it, that side effect has went away for both Dad and I and I have been smoking nothing but the diesel now for like 2 months. I go through strain phases. Anyway, as much as I hated these long ass December harvesting plants when they were growing, Man I dig this strain and am happy I didn’t chop them down when they fell over last year and followed them through to harvest.

Fucken Strawberry Diesel. :joy: :joy:

FYI…if any of you grow for cancer patients, this is definitely the one to grow them. It will stimulate their appetite and them some.
