Oh now that’s a deal I can’t refuse! (We horde maple syrup…)
My uncles used to make their own back in the day.
I wish I could ship some of my wife’s Canadian Baklava too.
Her recipe is basically substituting medium maple syrup for honey and unsalted cashews for the pistachios. …but I don’t think it would ship well …
@Icculus I have a Haas. It’s like 60 years old. I had a soft skin variety, but the tree grew really tall and I needed an extension ladder to get the fruit. I recently had it taken out.
I believe you all are right, think it takes a good 4 or 5 years to start getting fruit. Don’t think they will grow anywhere with a freeze. They are pretty tropical.
I’ve never had real maple syrup, straight from the tree.
@GMan Churros are like long deep fried pastries that taste like a donut. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside then rolled in cinnamon and sugar. They are delicious!
Thanks @ReikoX! I’ll pass this on to my construction foreman aka Dad lol
The one I grew wasnt overly flavorful at first. After a while curing it got quite a bit stronger. Now it tastes/smells like a mix of strawberry, cherry and a bit of chemical. So far its my favorite strain I’ve grown ( out of like 6 lol)
Did you get hints of lemon? I’ve got some in mine. I’m glad the chem flavor will carry through in the cure. It did get me high af. Almost too strong for me fresh dried. I can be a wuss. lol The men will love her though, they like really strong strains
I cant say I had any lemon in mine. And mines not super strong either, it packs a good punch but you can still function after smoking it if you have to
She grew pretty strange too. 6-8 inch long stems on the fan leaves going everywhere. The buds seemed light and airy too but got denser after drying. And actually was my biggest yield yet aswell
I’m assuming you grew an f2… mine was. We’ll see if I got a different pheno or maybe the slight lemon will mutate to a berry taste in the cure. I could function last night high, but I was seriously flying. I’ll have to wait until it’s done and the Men try it. It may just be my wuss side.
Mine had serious colas about 2 feet long. I’ve got pics of it budding somewhere in this thread. She did her buds were actually light. Lost most of mine to budrot though. Got less than half of her.
It sounds like you may have a different pheno. I just dug up a pic of mine near the end. They were more chunky lumpy buds. Ridiculously sticky, and a complete nightmare to trim
Oh Boy, You got a super leafy one. The one I got wasn’t even close to that much leaf. Let me see if I can find a post number or a pic so you can see mine.
That Stardawg comes through in the crosses I’ve had with it. There’s gonna be some variation with the f2’s but they should all be pretty fire. I’d like to get it going here soon. I bet it’ll taste nice after a good cure. It’s a pretty plant. Sucks the mold found it.
Yeah, 2020 was not my year. The year of bud rot and Covid 19, but the list is endless.
I’m looking forward to the cure on it. She goes into the bucket tomorrow. So far, I still think she tastes similar to blue dream right now. It’s def fire in stoney factor, looking forward to a better and stronger flavor though.
I’ve never had Stardawg except in the cross I have now. Is that the chem part? If so, I may have to get my hands on some straight Stardawg.
I’m a complete geek and grabbed these little popcorns that were left out on the skeleton that was the blue dream. Pulled them in washed them in peroxide in the sink. Probably gonna be a joint here once it dries and cures, but dammit, I really wanted to try this plant at full maturity. I guess 1 joint it will be! lol
Is she a bleeder? I had the lemon/gas pheno. So addicting and delish. If you don’t want to go to outer space on a rocket ship, let her go loooooooong or she’s racy AF. Most fire in a strain ever! Oh she already goes long, she didn’t flower for me outdoors until the middle of Sept. Usually they start in July lol
