Ok everyone, it looks like the time has come to shut down signups for the 2024 Veterans giveaway. I want to thank everyone for participating. I want to thank all the donors who contributed to this great cause. I want to thank @LemonadeJoe for hosting the best cannabis community in the world and thus making this event possible. Also a really big thanks to @Bobgrows who is putting in all the work of getting your packages out to those who signed up. She is truly an amazing woman. Finally I think we would all like the thank the Veterans with us for their service. For helping in a very real way to make this the world full of the freedoms we enjoy.
I think we really need to be thankful for what we have. The ability to come together here and share. The ability to speak freely. To have lives, jobs, families and things we can be proud off. When one looks around at the world we see that many are not that fortunate. There are places that right now as I type that have people in genuine fear for their lives with no real hope to cling to. They just live day to day in fear and danger. All of these people deserve the blessings that we enjoy. It is in great part thanks to Veterans right here on Overgrow, and those like them, that allow us to not live that life. I am proud to know them. Proud of the contributions my fellow human beings have made. Proud of their sacrifices. It’s with great respect that I say, You are ALL loved. I thank you. See you all on the site and at the 2025 event.

Salute to all the vets!
I am pretty amazed at the number of people in the 81-85 year range. That’s the same 4 year period that I spent in the Army. There was no point in screwing up for just 2 years

That’s the timeframe I joined the Air Force in too. I thought you were saying there were a lot of old vets (81-85). I felt a twinge of guilt when you said that, because octogenarians need this gear a lot more than I do.

What will really blow your mind is when you find an old pair of those OD green knee socks you have kicking around for some reason or god forbid a pair of the old Brown thunders and realize that thier older than the privates enlisting today haha

I recently found some old OD uniforms from basic back in 1983 and was pleased to discover that they fit me again!
