2025 New England and Upstate NY outdoor growing

New year, new thread
Due to some family matters, I didn’t exactly start out on Seed Popping Day, was a few days late, but off and running now.
And yeah, I know it’s an OUTDOOR growing thread, but up here, we need to get an early start, as everyone knows
I have 5 9lb Hammers and 3 Jack Herers that popped and are now in potting soil cells with a humidity dome and grow lights over them. Hopefully, helmets will be popping up today/tomorrow.
I’d like to reverse a Jack Herer, seems like a good strain to get some seeds out of.
Next up will be a retry of Melt Down, Maine Event, and maybe some Early Iranian, around Feb 1st.

So chime in…what are you OGers up here working on for 2025?

My brain is still grinding trying to figure out who goes outside this season. I know im running

Black Triangle (Bodhi)
Cloaked Aurora (@willie )
Pineapple Piff (@bigLblazed )
Island Crippy (Dankmaster)
Pressure skunk ( Dankmaster )
Moroc x purple satellite (@bigLblazed )

I might just stick with 6 this season. 12 was way too many last year. Im also looking into a 20 x 30 canopy frame this season. Last years project didnt turn out the way i hoped.

Looks like i figured it out, and my brain is done grinding!

@PsillyRabbit your outdoor is sneaky and lovely. That wood lattice works just right for some stealth colas.

I have old soul x 4play and another cross from a friend that made them which is currently a priority. I’m most likely just going to hunt these this season, should be around 50 seeds popped. If i find something of extreme interested and offered i will consider taking up on them and pooping them this season aswell.

Btw…just received my order from Bootstrap Farmer. Past couple of years I’ve had issues with seed trays I purchased at the hardware store. They’re fine when you’ve got tiny seedlings, but once things start growing a bit, and you water everything…those trays have a tendency to buckle, and you dump a bunch of plants you’ve worked hard on, right out onto the floor/ground.
These folks advertised heave duty seed trays, and I can vouch for the fact that they’re the real deal. I bought heavy duty humidity covers which have adjustable vents as well.

I’ve got a few more to “poop” as well

I stopped buying seeds almost a year ago since i have hundreds i been sitting on. I would like to pop them rather then just collecting them🤣

I gave a bunch away to a new guy just starting out last Aug. He’ll be going hell’s bells this year out in Ohio. Really thinned out the stash.

Hoping to do a few reversals this season and build it back up with stuff I want.

Nice, hopefully you get some samples in return🙂

Don’t really want any, especially since I won’t really know what it is, how it was grown, what it was fed, etc.
I have more than I know what to do with as it is…so I give a ton of it away.
Well…not a ton…lol…but a few pounds easily.

He said the last two years the weather forced him to finish end of September. He played around with some autos too but they werent happy even during the summer. We figure it might have been low night time temps stunting them.

He built a small greenhouse so hes hoping to have more wiggle room this year

Ya north of banger is a tough call. He should look into depo iam way south an depo is the only way I can pull quality outdoor market buds.

Early Iranian is going to be your friend.
I grew it last year, and growing more of it this year. Seeds are already popped.
The 1 female I grew out was finished before Labor Day.
Quite possible I’ll have some seed availability in the near future, for those interested.

This was taken Aug 20th, grown in a 3gal bucket on the deck:

On a different note…what do you folks think will be the most popular strains this season? A few years ago it was Northern Lights, then Wedding Cake…I heard a lot about Zskittlez? Also heard about Capt. Junky last year, 35% THC?

So what’s it going to be this year? What’s the new HOT strain?
