You ain’t seen nothing yet. Wait till these bastards show up…
It’s rot on the main stem. Sulfur will work if you catch it early.
If you clone it you’ll be able to save the plant if you wish
What are those? I thought i saw a couple of those this morning. I wasn’t sure what i was looking at.
Spotted lantern flys.
I’ve been dealing with a shiizzz–ton of snails lately. Saw 1 japanese beetle the other day.
It’s that HWA I’m concerned about around here.
Are they doing damage or just a nuisance?
Invasive species. Those horror shows suck juice off of plants and leave sticky waste that encourages fungal disease rot. They go after grape vines intensely. They attack hops as well as cannabis (which are distant cousins). They kill trees. They suck. Literally.
I invested in some Neem oil to spray. Hard to catch and squish by hand. Dextrous little ninjas.
Sounds like ninja aphids ![]()
Word to someone’s mama.
Guess are plants are pretty popular in the wild.
I’m sure my damage was caused by a stem borer. If I cut the stem of the top, bet he’s still up in there. I just thought it was too early for the bahstids…apparently I was wrong.
You know there’s something going on when you see small white butterflies/moths flying around your plants. Those fuqers are laying eggs.
Time to step up my spraying regiment. And make a not to start earlier next year.
Buenos dias hermanos y hermanasI
A lovely day for an update.
Starting off with the Malawi x NL sister’s.
They have grown considerably in the last week and all things appear nominal.
The Mystery Strain ?
She has a relatively short internode spacing and she has gotten really bushy. Sne could do with a little LST.
The variagation is becoming more pronounced and she is also displaying leaf tip curl.
The Critical +2 sisters are moving right along at about the 2nd-ish week of flower and they are starting to stack and frost up
The big girls had to move out from under the nets as I’m anticipating a x 2-2.5 stretch and they are relatively tall already. They all have been switched to flowering nutes. These ladies will all eventually have to be staked.
They are currently all being LST’ed and I recently did some judicious fan leaf removal to open up the structure and increase light penetration to some of the lowers.
Golden Putang
She is about 5’ tall.
MM 5-Star #1
She is ~4.5’ tall
MM 5-Star #2
She’s ~ 4.5’ tall
MM 5-Star #3 (aka 'Gorilla Girl)
She’s ~ 4.5’ tall.
Been keeping an eagle eye out for pests. I eventually discovered that slugs were munching on one of the Critical +2. I only found one on the one plant in question, but where there is one…there is always more than one.
I have developed an aversion to slugs.
In the long ago past in my old guerilla days I had entire plants stripped to the main stem by the slimy little bastards. I’ve taken steps to cordon off the tasty plant in question and eliminate the toothy little suckers.
Reading the Brothers post’s here has got me kind of paranoid, as I did see one or two Spotted Lantern fly nymphs a week or two ago. I’ve not seen any since.
I would be interested to know what steps the community takes to suppress or eradicate them should they arrive in force?
that #3 5star is like my favorite living plant on the internet right now🤩
Yeah, I suspect that it will be even more interesting as it gets into full on flower.
This is my current setup. I might go to a bigger shop vac and then add a slightly smaller clear tube. If they are not moving they are had to vacuum. I put my hand in back and they come to front of stem and into clear tube. That is why thinking of stronger vac. But I have nailed 100s. I figure once a day will upset them.
I spray daily due to pests. White flies and gnats suck, they’re a nightmare and are always back.
What do you use for ipm don’t mind me asking
I like neem/citric
No spraying yesterday or today due to work. Will give everything a good shot tomorrow, and Wed is Weed Feed day ![]()
I was surprised to see borer damage so early, figured them for later in the season, obviously wrong on that count, so will step up efforts. I was focused more on the leaves, due to the Japanese Beetles, but will now make sure the main stalk gets a good spray as well.
We had some gnarly storms roll through last night lot of flooding in my county…check up on ladies looks like they held up
Looking good. ![]()
looking good and welcome to the ny new england grow
