2025 New England and Upstate NY outdoor growing

Increase potassium and phosphorus…Try and use a bloom booster that has boron and sulfur. Higher potassium will help fight disease and I go with a high phosphorous its an old trick to turn buds purple , and sends them into fat buds, works amazing.
I use a bloom booster formula when the buds are showing in the second week. For me, it’s also super important that I strip all the bottom branches off, leaving only the biggest main branches. So, depending on the size of the plant I might go up a foot or even two. Somewhere in a PVOG AWESOME SAUCE grow journal I have pics and results that show what I’m talking about.
Don’t take this as gospel, it’s just a method I evolved into.
Blessings upon your harvest. :peace_symbol::us::us::us::peace_symbol::open_mouth:

Yeah, some of my photos started early. The Critical +2 autos have maybe 2 or 3 weeks to go…maybe 4. From what has been posted by some of the group it seems some folks are in the same boat. I’m hoping that some do finish early so that I can stagger the drying/ curing process.

Thanks, your garden was looking awesome, as well. Those Malawi x NL sound nice. Your Mystery strain is looking promising, also. Things are just starting to get interesting now.
I keep thinking about trying a Auto outdoors, i have a male to cull, so maybe i will replace it with a Auto. I should have enough time to finish one, weather permitting.

Thanks! The girls are starting to get their stank on. The ‘Gorilla Girl’ is the standout in the stank department. She has a hash, carrot smell that is really apparent and all her new, stretch growth is now turning purple. The petioles and the stems particularly. The stalk is showing some purple streaks as well. She is going to be interesting as flowering progresses. I suspect she will finish as a purple monster.

The other 2 5-Star are also doing well. All three grew at least 3 inches over the last 24 hours. I have a feeling the stretch is going to be epic on all three.

You could probably get an Auto in if you start it ASAP.
Most go 90 days so you could get it done by October.
I only grow my autos outdoors. The seem to thrive better in the great outdoors and they usually finish larger than autos that I have run in the past in the tent. I have high hopes for the Malawi x NL, as these three have really bulked up in a week. Lord only knows how big they will be when finished. The largest is pushing 2+ feet and the other 2 are not far behind and they just started showing pistils.

I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they maintain their current growth rate during the stretch.

The Mystery Strain is going to need some LST as it has turned into a bushy beast and is shooting stems out all over. The interesting thing is that it started flowering as a seedling. Literally the same week it went into the pot, so it’s alternate phyllotaxy growth pattern is like one very large branching cola. Never seen anything like it before and the new leaflets that are sprouting now are completely variegated. First it was a half a leaflet, then a whole leaflet, then half a full leaf…and now full leaves. It’s a mystery but I have hopes it will be killer when it’s done

I’ve been using the plants as shade plants for the peppers & eggplants. They were transplanted about 2 weeks ago.

Everything got a good nitrogen feeding the other day, and a lot of growth the day or two after that. They’re looking good. I dumped a few gallons of neem oil water across the garden fabric and lumber. It cut down on the snails. They’re my top pest this summer.

The carrot watering plugs have been great. like generic bluemats. They pull water from the milk jugs, and keep the soil damp all day. You can see the milk jugs next to the growbags. I mixed neem in 1 jug, and poured that in all the others, so that it’s not a snail feeder.

The idea lately has been to water in neem oil. Rather than try to spray anything on these. We’ve had a lot of thunderstorms roll thru and it washes them off too fast, or it’s too sunny and they get burnt.

Nice! Looks like they are getting plenty of sun! That’s great. Are this 20 fabrics?

SUPER NICE! Are those like 30 or 50 gallons? Big pots. I keep mine a bit smaller because sometimes we get torrential storms, like Biblical, and I like being able to pick them up and stick em in the garage if it’s not too late. Had some beauties just crushed. But hey, it’s a weed.Seriously, you could plant a bean in the crack of a sidewalk and the lil bastid would sprout! And grow. I’ve seen it .:rofl:

I’ve been away for 5 days, got back last evening. Just went for a plant tour.
Japanese Beetles are back with a vengance, and…I have more borer damage.
I’m guessing I didn’t start the spray regiment early enough, although this is more recent, so maybe snuck in after a rainstorm.
As I was spraying everything, there were small, thin, green flies/moths taking off from the plants, no idea what those are.
Overall, I’m not happy with the way things are looking down there.
I might be setting up my grow room earlier than I thought. I have 5 clones downstairs that were just an afterthought, but they may be a significant part of this years harvest, the way things are going.
