2025 New England and Upstate NY outdoor growing

Flushing is pointless no matter indoor or outdoor  unless you want to reset your medium mid grow

Never flush, indoor or outdoor.

I’ve been hoping to take this plant down Tuesday… and it’s getting close, but I don’t think it’s gonna be ready to come down by then.

Can you give it another week+ ? Still lots of white stigmas. Very resinous she is.
What strain please?

Shouldn’t be a problem, just annoying because it keeps looking close, and then pops out some more white stigmas.

It’s Twenty20’s Early Frost. Popped as a bit of an insurance policy in case the weather goes south fast as we get into fall.

I saw you post about Zerotol the other day. Any words of wisdom about it? Do you use 2.0 or HC? If the former, how’s the PPE?

I use the HC. The 2.0 is pretty expensive, and the HC is affordable and effective. Especially now in September where the damp nights leave the plants wet then dry if it’s sunny…Tis the season for powdery mildew. I saw a couple of small spots, which used to mean disaster, I sprayed again last night. I’m torn between might spraying and day spraying. At night, the plants get wet anyway. During the day, if I sprayed would it be more effective to spray on dry.? But then I’d have plants that spent a lot of time wet, so I’m sticking to night. You can spray wet plants, you can even spray in a light rain. So far, the only down side is that it knocks off a few brown pistils, no biggy, the buds remain sticky and juicy and that’s all that matters to me.
Did a treatment again last night. About to go inspect now.

Definitely a huge change over night , the humity mixed with morning dew just didnt take it all out it was enough to cause alot of rott to the topps of one luckily the rest seem okay! Removed even more leafs from the rest. Air flow is generally always good too . Hope everyone has the best of luck with there harvests there alot of work an important as heck ! Much love

It’s been so dry this year I think I’ve been lying to myself/misremembering how bad the river valley fog gets in the morning. It’s like my plants are under the river (thankfully it burns off fairly quickly, but still).

I live next to the river also, the Connecticut. But in the fall it gets damp anyway. Early morning dew, I just fed the plants, at 11 and they were still wet. The Zerotol not only killed the small amount of botrytis, it killed some small spots of powdery mildew that had begun. The stuff is pulling its weight, for sure. I’m waiting to see how much it extends the season this year. After spraying last, two days ago, I spent some time snipping fat sun leaves off, after feeding them - colas are starting to reach baseball bat proportions with a few heading towards 2 liter. bottle size. Still have about 50% that are only large buttons, hoping this feeding kicks them into gear with this cold weather.
Saw a spider mite dangling on a web and squished him. I’m not seeing heavy activity from them like I used to, but I’m going to give it a treatment tonight. I did see the infamous ‘oh, that must just be a cat hair’ on one plant. Overall, im pretty happy with how things are going, except for the smaller buds this late in September.

Usually, im about here.

Think I’d have to disagree with this. Bloom booster has proven to make a remarkable difference when used properly. I.e.; when plants begin to go into flower, pistils and small buttons, when applied, the flower not only shows a growth burst it can also effect color, usually adds purple to most quality strains. I would go so far as to say when properly applied, it can increase yield by 30%.
There are caveats to this. One, I don’t use a lot of nutrients, i worked for a grower that used Emerald Harvest and another that used another program that requires constant measuring and adding chemicals in different quantities and different stages every time they were watered. Not only were they expensive, and a pain in the ass, imho, they didn’t really make a huge difference. (I mean, we are talking about a weed, that can grow out of a crack in the sidewalk)
Compared to my plants where I use basic and minimum nutrients,it just didn’t seem worth it to me. That’s marketing. People think if they throw money at their grow, they will have a superior product. I’m not judging, you do you, I always say.
Bloom booster is basically just an increase in phosphorus, and potassium. It’s the increased potassium that makes the difference in the flower. The increased phosphorus helps with vigorous leaf, root, and plant robustness, which enables the plant to support the large flowers without snapping off the stalks.
So I’m not an advocate of too many ‘scientifically designed grows,’ however, one of the things I do utilize, is a bloom booster.
Blessings upon your harvest.:peace_symbol:

I picked up a jug of Zerotol earlier today (the HC, they didn’t even have the 2.0).

Nice topic, I grow in Upstate NY, close to the boarder of PA.

I have a lot of PM and also Botrytis. Started spraying with HCOL repeatedly this year and all that mold crap went away. Looks like I might be able to take first plant down in about 3 weeks, but some are far behind still.

All my plants are stacking flowers.
Only Freakshow is starting to get darker hairs just a few.

Thanks for the tip on Zertol.
Oddly enough, Amazon won’t ship it to my home in Maine, but Walmart will

So if I remember, I’ll try and do this test next season, with 2 plants, side by each, same strain, etc. Hit one with Bloom, and see if it surpasses the plain one.

trichs look…good enough! not fricking spraying any more this season. didn’t much, but- I suppose I expext more from the cultivars. most I choose do well no matter how poorly they’re treated, by me or the nature. psyched forthe harvest, more to come from the hardier folks in the yard

keep on Rockin’!

Smoke report on Gorilla Girl #3 (Mass Medical #3). She was the most sativa pheno and the one bowl I smoked nearly did me in. Litterally couldn’t stand up!!! i kept falling over. Buzz was strong with a cameral hash citrus taste along with some green menthish notes. Wiped me for four hours and gave me a severe case of the munchies. Can’t wait for it to cure for 6 months
