Day 1. So I’m gonna be taking it up a notch and I am going to be growing a Skywalker auto fem from Mephisto and it’s my first time growing autos and I will be using my phototron and it is just a 2 gallon pot I’ll be putting it in for the entire grow and I am just getting ready to start germinating the seed tonight germination is good old paper towel and baggy on hot water heater and it’s approximately 72 degrees by the place I’ve been using for years and I have a digital temperature gun from my car racing habits lol but I hope that you guys keep an eye out for anything please don’t hesitate to give feedback, input advice etc…my biggest question is nutrients and I will be using 18/6 light schedule and normal fluorescent t12 bulbs and this in the ceiling of phototron

Interesting, indeed, but why just 2 gallons? 
I don’t think height can be an issue in an indica dominating auto:
Auto Skywalker is a 65% indica plant that grows medium-sized at 60 - 90 cm. tall
it says perhaps you can be a little more ambitious … 
Mephisto recommends growing 16 plants in 12 litre pots to achieve the best returns.
1/2 your usual nute amounts is my usual rule with good auto genetics. Mephisto - strain depedent - you can sometimes work your way up to full strength during flower.
I have 0 advice what so ever on how to grow in the Phototoron but I’m damn excited to see how this turns out! LOL.
I was reading about it and I can barely get any bigger than 2 maybe I should get a 3 gallon but I’m just seeing how it goes and it’s just the sort of things that I posted for thanks for the input @George
I’ve been using a Phototron for 2 years and had a great successful harvest a month ago and I know it’s old school but I just want to see if autos will go in it I’ve had photo fems so like I said it’s gonna be a learning process
I’ve been having amazing success growing autos in red solo cups and passively feeding them hydroponically (just in a cup that sits below a perforated bottom solo cup). A Pringle container might be better for a longer tap root; but check out this science experiment.
Seems like it’s almost a style built just for a grow like this. This mephisto 3BOG x Mango Smile is almost 3 feet tall, growing straight upwards. Pictured next to another auto in a 3 gallon pot, same height! Crazy. Thought this might be an interesting idea for you to toy with.

@DrGonzo13 Bro, you’ve utilized the tron well. I was an idiot to fill the thing w the sphagnum moss and try to grow as “recommended” and blind not to see the chamber as useful otherwise. I should have seen it as a seedling/veg chamber. I think models that preceded the the mid 90’s were better at the lighting coverage for buds. You will do well. I have no doubts after seeing this 
I know what you mean about it but my Dad successfully used it in the 80s when he was supplied with sphagnum moss and it was treated with the vital supplements and before you were about to flip to flower he’d send it out to be analyzed by the company and they’d send you back s report of what you’re lacking or overdoing and then you would get the flower nutes (all powder mix) and I tried twice and almost got it and I started being followed by @PhilCuisine and he’s been my Tron-Guru and always tells me that just grow the plant and don’t worry about the vessel like a tent or outdoors and just remember that it’s growing up pretty much the same way it’s a weed …and since applying basics instead of overthinking it I did and you’re spot on I’m highly considering updating my t12 bulbs for t8-t12 led replacement bulbs and did u see that light I bought for the top of my phototron and I’ll take a few pictures of my old girl Phototron 3000sx and I am just curious about what autos would be like because of there size and quick finishing and I may use it for the first couple weeks of veg for the Skywalker and I germinated 3 CG x Xmas bud79…I am just excited about the possibilities wiyu like u mentioned I could even be doing a seed run or helping test out some beans/ pheno hunting and grow some flower for headstash inside of my phototron so it’s gonna be interesting and I have even considered running two of the same female plants and one in tent under newer setup vs phototron for comparison with structure of stem, leaf and bud development but I just a little piece of equipment that should wouldn’t have been shutdown if the labs hadn’t shutdown or if it was legal so I am also able to talk about it with my Dad and with the Alzheimer’s it’s been REALLY frustrating and rewarding because he remembers enough to be dangerous lol but can’t remember the little things about using the phototron and just growing and he used to grow up amazing plants that were just as big, beautiful and Good like @PhilCuisine grows in which he’s basically been my Master and I the loyal apprentice in training…but I just wanted to let some people know and hopefully see 
how you can get a GOOD plant grown in one and the last grow started with these few

Yeah, when I first started growing I did a lot of overthinking…specially with hydro, I would be chasing the PH then finally I said forget this shit…The main thing is use good water, Chicago tap water is around 160-170 ppms…I didn’t care about ph anymore and I used Technaflora BC nutes…I found a town close by that has 130-140 ppms and that’s the water I use nowadays, no more hauling/importing Chicago tap water to the country.
I’ve been growing my set it forget way for 20+ years now, I still don’t care about PH and still use Technaflora BC nutes…I refuse to be a slave to this plant, I’ve also seen people here that have the same way of thinking as I do…btw, folks I think growing vegetables are a lot more difficult than growing this plant…Also if you can grow in a Phototron you can grow in a tent and if you can grow in a tent you can grow in a Phototron. The pix below were all grown my set it and forget it way…A lot of people seem to forget that this is just a weed folks.
