Definitely getting your work out .
UK Cheese done. 2x plants and one of them was the “Runt”.
Can of D&B for reference, because I’m out of Iron Bru.
Nice haul! Looks like you’ve got yourself a nice stash for the head. Hope they turned out smelling, tasting, and hitting like you were hoping for.
Oh more than I assumed when I started! It took all day just to address 2 of the 4 plants in the tent and i’m actually thankful it turned out this way because I filled my only drying rack already . I’ve always wanted a secondary rack so now I have a good excuse. That and now I’m not tempted to reuse the bud wash buckets for the Pink Cookies as it won’t keep and I know I should use a different batch for each strain.
Thank you kindly! This was a surprise as much was hidden under the canopy with enough light to grow, but not enough to be prize winners. Each branch looks like a monkey’s paw or Bigfoot hand. I’m curing in my basement and the smell is well… fantastic. I love how the lemon/baking soda smells awesome when you are cleaning, but is nowhere to be seen after the 2 water bucket washes. One day I’ll break and get both a trimming machine and a bud washer .
Have you ever tried a staggered harvest? Give those lowers some time with canopy light and give yourself more time to trim and whatnot. Looks good how you’re doing it though, so maybe don’t change anything. Ha.
That’s a solid idea. I do stagger harvest outdoors when my 20gal fabric pots help me create beasts. Last year I ended up with 1x Gelato much taller than me and I took 3 sessions to take it down in order not to stress about it. It was a few weeks apart so each batch was slightly more mellow the longer it stayed on the plant. The last batch got pulled just after a light frost where the buds were thankfully okay but turned the deepest colour I’d ever seen on any of my Gelatos.
Hey there you’re already harvesting! Congratulations was reading through and didn’t see well saw your Cheese was a mother who’s cut breeder? And did you have any nute issues just started a few myself. Thanks happy smoking!
Thanks! My UK Cheese Mother was a gift given to me by a friend as a cutting. He got it from someone starting a clone business and he had extras to give away and I lucked out. I will reach out to him and ask if he knows. I had no nute issues and run a sterile mix. You can see from the top of this post the stuff I use and their NPK ratings + supplements. Hands down my favourite addition to my solution has been Grotek’s Gro-Silic. Not cheap but lasts as 250ml cost me $40 but I still have more than 1/2 of it left after one session! I mix it with luke warm water first, then add to my tank, then add all the other goods. Made my soon to be outdoor seedlings stems so strong I can flick them and they spring back line a taught wire. The stems were strong enough that the SCROG was there but they were supporting themselves. That and the Miracle Harvest which increased my yield + increased battle with PM and RDWC. Happy growing yourself! Looking forward to seeing what you do.
That’s awesome thanks for the 411 and will continue from the top!
The UK Cheese plants have dried and are curing in a 5 gallon bucket with a Gamma Seal lid. Both in total came up to 214 grams after drying and stem removal ending up at .71g per actual watt (under 1x 300w Mars Hydro TSL2000). I’d be annoyed about the missing .04g off target but then remembered that one of the plants was the RUNT so all in all I am actually on target! (*goal is 1g/watt but I may be reaching).
Humidifier inside tells me it’s at 59% humidity which really makes me smile. So far i’m far preferring this bucket curing method as it’s so much less time to address than a pile of glass jars. The jars still have their place, but now only for storage after the cure.
My week got busy so I lost the time to chop the Pink Cookies… so that’s happening RIGHT NOW! I’m expecting ANOTHER long day of trimming, sipping espresso, bong hits with good tunes and then washing before hanging it all up to dry.
All the best everyone and now I’m off to Trim Jail:
Have fun keep yourself well medicated on days like that makes the job easier.
Break #1!
1x plant to go!
Before:
After:
Decent pile in the laundry bin.
Now for lunch, more coffee and smoke the back at it!
OUT OF TRIM JAIL! Celebrating by eating cookies and listening to “The Man From U.N.K.L.E.” OST. (*breakout music).
All in all this was 100% worth all the effort.
2x Pink Cookies; trimmed & washed. Bigger yield than the UK Cheese as both of these plants were the same size as the largest UK Cheese.
All the branches looked like this… APE HANDS.
As a result the rack is pretty full and i’m so happy I have another 5 gallon bucket with Gamma Seal lid ready to go.
Once everything has dried i’ll post a total weight after de-branching and before cure.
Thanks for checking in!
Well it’s all done! 4 plants cloned and given a lot of love and care. They also taught me A LOT, which I say every grow but it does have a positive compounding effect considering how much you learn from each time around.
The Pink Cookies came out to 255g from the two plants total after drying to 58% humidity working out to .85g per watt with the 300w Mars Hydro TSL2000 which makes me feel over the roof with joy as I have never before had a g/watt this high for any indoor grow.
This is also only my second run with this RDWC set-up so I’m even more chuffed regarding what is still possible!
Everything is sealed up in another 5 gallon bucket with Gamma seal lid, a hygrometer and a Bovida pack.
Apologies for no pictures this time around but farther down the cure I’ll take some shots of everything in a bowl like green popcorn. Thanks for reading and all the best!
Sounds like it went great @Pigeonman !
Very respectable numbers.
I imagine you’re very pleased with yourself, as you should be.
Sounds like the TSLs are working out perfectly for you.
Hurry up and show some pics of your mountain of dope!
Congratulations and all the best.
Bwahahaha! Thanks for the great reference!
This stash will be both smoked and turned into butter & oils to help my loving partner with her migraines, me with my ADHD and back pain, my Father with his pain, my Mother with hers. It’s always such a great mind-fuck that I get to grow plants in a way I love and it all ends up helping those I love.
It’s a great circle.
Here’s some snaps for you @Foreigner .
Easy as: 1) Twist open!, 2), Shake, 3) Enjoy the sniff, 4) Twist close!
UK Cheese (just under 1/2 full)
Pink Cookies (just about 1/2 full)
I’ll do a dramatic pile of both when I jar them up for storage after 6 week in these buckets.
Thanks for checking in!
