Good evening yall,I was gifted 420 Bagseeds to be exact,from the years 2008-2016(in the text she told me that they hadn’t gotten very many seeds sense 2016)I am trying to pop some now but would like to figure out some things. If your interested in growing some of these with me,just ask I will share:heart:
. I am making this post to see if i can figure out a way to identify these bagseeds a little better. I have seen 1 picture where it has like 10 different seeds…but thats it and about all I can find. Im very interested in deep diving what Im about to get into with these,but just want some idea of where they come from if possible,or does anybody have a good idea on how to group them? I was thinking like super small,small,medium,or light light but not a green seed,light,medium,dark,near black. Again any help is very appreciated,if you would like some…ask! It’s impossible to identify a ‘seed’. You need to grow them, and only then you can tell some basic characteristics from the plant look.
And by the way, does it matter where they are from? If they grow quality weed, I wouldn’t care. Sometimes a random seed can produce great results.
If they were mine, and they were that old, I’d probably write off the lightly coloured ones and focus on the darker ones as they are more likely to be viable.
But yeah, no way to tell except to grow them.

Anyway, once you started the adventure, you could also grow something that you like together w/ it, just to make sure u get something good to use

thanks for the humor man I needed it! I was actually expecting somebody to say “Just pop them and find out” which I have been trying to do,but the germ rate is like 2/50…I know old seeds can be like that. Im going to scratch them up lightly with some sand paper. Yes I know there seeds lmao,Im just very interested/deep into genetics stuff right now,and knowing whats what is very important to me. I have my crosses separated obviously,but I have a “random pile” that has all my crosses onlythrown in it,the seeds that go there are the ones I cant remember what nug they came out of but I know its from a line im working. Im weird like that with alot of things. Sorry for rambling lol stoned.
Your 100% right and I wouldn’t ever argue that,I was more or less just putting it out there to see if theres anybody whos crazy ovef seeds like a “rainman” type situaion lol. I am germinating 100,2 popped so far over a 4 day period😞. Now what if I popped them with tweezers,since there old seeds would that be a bad idea? Thanks for any feedback😊

Try scratching the seed shell with sandpaper, and soaking them in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water. This sanitizes them, and helps oxygenate the shell. I usually put the soaking beans on something warm while they soak. Give them some time, ive had seeds take a long time to crack before, especially in the winter with temps dipping below high 60s indoors
Sometimes gently cracking them can help, but personally im always too nervous im going to shatter them to try that.
Definitely worth growing them out to see what you have. The period theyre from is a very cool time for weed, in my opinion, with what strains were being pushed commercially.
420 beans is a good amount lol. Also sharing would mean I could possibily see whats in here faster+maybe something bomb,or a total waste of time. It would still be a fun adventure. These are from 2008-2016,She lived in Connecticut her whole life. She went to over 500 dead shows,nown I wont make claims or do any of that just the Fact that I know she smokes Great herb,Has grown since the early 80s. She is 68 yrs old so it all adds up. The day she let me go throug her bag seed jar my eyes lit up,I was smiling from ear to ear,I thanked her with an oz Of “Chapos Cheese” which is just a Cheese line im working. But it was a really cool friendship builder,I will forever be in debt to her,I offer to help her with anything,Snow shoveling? Car wont start? Firewood needs stacked? Gutters need cleaned? Pipes frozen? Just that type of general help. Not tooting my own horn or trying to sound like an ego head but its a friendship I needed. She has helped me see the positive to life. So in return I try to spread what I can and help if I can. Its really just that easy to be nice and wave ya know. Lol your the 2nd person I replied to and rambled a bit. Thats who I am. I would never under any circumstances sell these seeds. I will gift them with whoevers getting them knowing exactly what they are and all the info I know about them. I have lines I’m working I already get upset when I find a seed then set it down and forget exactly what it is,then I pick it back up idk 15 mins later and cant remember…because my brain does this trick in my head where it will say all the crosses and not the 1…so I throw the seed in “my random crosses” pile lol. Everything else is either shucked and de seeded right away or if its lightly seeded I just smoke through it and if I find a seed I toss it back in the jar,once the jars empty Ill collect the seeds. I Feel like this gives a few weeks for the seeds to harden off/dry a bit more.

(Exodus Cheese x Royal Wedding Bx1) it foxtails lightly which is wicked,Purples on the interior at around day 45,50. The high is melt like cheese literally. All cheddar cheese with diesel in the backround now at the end of cure. This pheno does the 5 leaf/double serrated on the right side mainly which I have heard is a good sign. Unfortunately this Pheno doesnt produce many seeds…If your lucky 20 in a qp. I have EC x Divine Comedy 4(Cherry pie kush breath F2 x Dantes Inferno).ssv. which im hoping helps there. I hope to show what I got going on here.
Ill report back here with my results! I have tried the Hydrogen peroxide in the past and it actually didnt help which suprised me. I was like seeds no pop?wtf mane surprising because every seed I have put in HP pops in like 12-18 hours. This time I took 1ml of a 1:20ml mix of garden friendly fungicide,1tsp of big foot mycorrhizae concentrate and let them soak. 2 seeds popped in 24 hours which is better then any other method I have tried. 2 is better then none. But what I saw tonight was about 10 cracking which made me smile. Thanks for the help/feedback brother,hope your have a rockin day. This cheese has me melting and my jaw is dropped…my head is like wahwahwahwah hahahahha.

Okay breeding question,Now I took Royal Wedding which is (Wedding Cake x Royal Kush) hit it to Ice cream cake x Dantes Inferno,Frozen Bag,Chimera 3 10k Cut. Parent strain in icc is Wedding cake,Is the RW x (Icc x DI)a bx,or an F1? Like how far do I need to go back for it to be an F1? Or sense it has wedding cake in its line its already a bx of some sort? These are the confusing questions I have.
separate them by how they look, then toss a few of each into worm castings and see how things grow out.
You may find treasure! You may also find bunk.
But you’ll need to spark life into them to find out.

Id probably consider that an f1 since you arent starting with straight wedding cake. If you were using straight wedding cake, i might consider it a back cross if the Ice cream cake cross leaned really heavily towards wedding cake, and the offspring from the cross heavily trended towards wedding cake.
The point of the Back cross is to get as close as possible to capturing the strain in seed form, usually by introducing a similar plant that doesnt take away too much from the target of the bx
Thank you so much that question has been on my mind for 2 weeks now. I have been worried that this whole time Im making some sort of bx. Heres the ICC x DI which I believes WC leaning but can see some dantes now.
