The pricing on feminized autoflower seeds, in my opinion, show just how weak and fragile these genetics are.
Like a xerox of a xerox, things fade. Healthy xy/xx plants just DUMP seeds, the ruderalis shortcut breeding of feminizing everything has super weird results.
They are able to provide seeds that sprout real plants with great flavor, but boy are they weak as hell reproductive wise.
A bit of a ramble, point I’m getting at is I’m not surprised the seeds are pricey. They are the biggest name in the game as well.

You’ve never grown the right Genetics then Grow some Speedrun or Bean Genie’s autos. Great genetics and great producers. Issue currently is too much cross breeding going on by many, but guys like Speedrun and Bean Genie keep breeding their families with history between their plants. They don’t just breed a few plants and call them breeders. Many new guys trying to break into the seed market selling whatever, are where some of the bad raps on these Autoflowers are coming from, not quality or long term geneticists.
