That would be continental climate, and I’d like to hear based on your experience what strains finish early enough, before it gets too cold or you get mold issues?
I’m looking into Sensi’s Shiva skunk, according to them it should be done in time. If anyone grew it, what phenos are they expressing?
Also, Serious 6&7 from Simon/Serious seeds are early finishing strains, but they are more on sativa side(I like indica better).
I know there are many strains that on paper should be ok for this kind of climate, but I’d like to hear your experience with various strains.
I’m at 45° N, some 500m above sea level, warm summers but it can turn quickly into autumn as it’s a hilly area. Harvest should be latest 1.10.
I grow outdoors at 53N and everything semi-autoflowering will finish end of september here:
Nepali Baglung
Erdbeer / Erdbei
Typhoon
And many more
Also normal photoperiod Afghani #1 finished around this time frame. If you go for strains with almost 100% indica most of them should finish at your latitude.
If you prefer Indica strains all of them will be a little more dense… else you need to search for a hybrid indica dominant strain. Sometimes those old strains are more resistant to mold, even with rock hard buds, the rain can’t enter if they are like stones
A lot of it depends on when flowering triggers, if it’s a standard 8-9 week hybrid. It could just be the pheno, but in the past two years I had one plant each year that triggered two weeks ahead of the others. One was CSI sherbet/wedding cake and CSI Zkittlez/purps.
They showed pistils late July and were done stretch by mid Aug- finished first week of Oct.
This is in Toronto (44N)
