I would suggest using a bong for your throat though for sure, and using warm water in the bong, no ice. Dry pipes are never going to be the answer for sensitive throats, any kind of hot vapor or smoke is an irritant that will compound. A multi chamber bong is the best I have found with some cooling herbs(mint, eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, mullien) in the warm water. Always clean it after a session as well. Definitely annoying, but I have the same throat issues and am allergic to ragweed and dust, so also, washing your buds post harvest can help.

Thank you @Dr.VitaminGreen . I hadn’t thought to try warm water in the bong. I use crushed ice and hit it slow as possible.
Oh yes. You bet I wash my buds. I saw a video of a guy washing his buds. The nasty that was left in the bucket convinced me to wash mine. Of course my water doesn’t come out near as nasty as his ( I keep a clean room ) but there was definitely some visible evidence that washing them off is a good idea.
Thanks for the tip though. I will try warm water and see how that works for me.

You can also Try it the Ed Rosenthal way of Hydrogen peroxide dip followed by water buckets next time, it works very very well.
Blackmarket buds are often from outdoor and while everyone loves ro claim the sun grown medicine is the best, they don’t ever think about all the dust in the air lol.
Warm water is much better for inhaling, I know it seems counter intuitive but the science is there if you do some research on it.

I’m all about research. I’m kinda a nerd that way I guess. But, I think, a quick one subject study will suffice. 
I appreciate the tip though. I sing lead in our band and I don’t want to sound like Joe Cocker. That’s not a bad sound but it doesn’t pair well with our style of bluegrass/gospel much. lol

Haha, my wife loves the show “Friends,” and there’s a couple episodes where Phoebe gets a cold and loves how her voice sounds because it gets all throaty and “sexy.”
