A couple weeks at the lake with Doug

Unfortunately alot of things manufactured these days are defective from the start. :expressionless:

Yeah things just aint what they used to be. I could have saved myself digging a giant hole if I just realized it was defective. Oh well, at least I got my money back.

I’ve been down that road many times. All the time pissin around diagnosing different things and in the end you find the brand new part defective.

Yup, shit happens

I see you’re north of Siberia, and we’re at the same latitude.
Long summer evenings 9:30 and plenty of light.

Well hello OG, back at the lake doing chores. Fixed the doc yesterday and today is time to clean one of my boats. She lost the ability to shift into reverse so took apart the lower unit, replaced a broken cradle for shifter, replaced all the seals and slapped her back together over the winter. Time to test her out and make sure she is not taking on any water in gear box.

Man oh man, hate when I have bad back days. Apparently lifting that dock over my head multiple times and all the other crap didnt agree with me, lol. Oh well, seed sorting time. Soooooo many seeds, yikes.

I’m sure you’ll find homes for most of them . Ya physically involved jobs usually end in pain the joys of getting old.

Lol, older is the word

Been a fun day. Did a full tour of the lake and river, boat running like a champ. It appears my lower unit rebuild was a complete success. Replaced the landing going into the boat house as well. Now it’s some White Widow while I make some chicken and rice. Good times.

The first gun I ever had. 10 / 22 . Had two of the. 50 round clip. Very tight on the movement. No kick. I’m a old M1 guy.

Naw seriously though… I want to start working towards this when I get my bearings a bit more.

Still deciding my final destination. Maybe Alaska? Maybe somewhere south.

But a little cottage, some good year round weather is all I need… a nice greenhouse where I can grow all my own fruits and veggies wouldn’t be a bad idea either. I even want to get into hunting. Thanks to joe rogan and Steve Rinella. Self sustaining type shit.

Man that’s the dream cheers to you man :beers:.

Yeah, it really is. It’s not that big but it’s got 4 bedrooms, a full basement, wrap around deck, basement entrance and a sun room so more than enough for my wife and I come retirement. My main house will end up as my retirement fund. Personally I can’t wait
