You need the same three things, light air and nutrients in a sterile environment.

The only thing missing in this case is the nutrients. You would typically use something like agar and synthetic plant hormones in like a recipe so to speak. The hormone ratios are different for different plants so that’s why I say it’s like a recipe.

That’s the difference between this technique and tissue culture. This is a tissue culture protocol and I just took the agar part out to make it easier but throw that in and you’re doing TC for long term storage.
