sensi . northern lights . if your e in america which i guess you are - then maybe you can find alternatives . if you are buying seeds then sensi is the place in europe . i know about all the hype and bad comments and dont deny it may even be true sometimes … but at the end of the day ive always been happy with them . they dont offer everything under the sun but look at the evidence … the top breeders in america go to sensi seeds for their stabilizing genetics.
from what i understand also its the only place where you get a nl strain which is blended nl1 , nl2 , and nl5

i have this pre 90 cut of NL5 out of Alaska, but it’s probably a few months from being bud. supposedly was 'the NL5" there for a long time.

@hashpants nl2 was really nice. great body high. easy to grow. good yield. i might run that again sometime.

You have a mother of that right? I would keep it around.

I like having multiple mothers as a back up if needed.

looks like I have some searching, to do Thanks to all that answer ( I feel a long “hunt” ahead of me)

My “best NL#5” was from Nirvana back in early 2000s…
Don’t think those are good anymore but could give em a try. 5-10 years ago Nirvana seemed on top of their game but not so much anymore (at least to me but havent grown anything from them in decades).

The Ortega from Mr. Nice seeds is very interesting. Its supposedly NL#1 x NL#5.
The NL#1 was known to hermie though.
And so did the Ortega for me. But I had many issues in that grow so could still be good. You can head over to Mr Nice forums and check out some grow logs there for more info.

The NL#5 Skunk I grew from Mr. Nice in a successful round was mid to high shelf smoke. Quite yieldy, nice citrus terps. I feel whatever Shanti crossed the NL#5 to let’s a lot of the other strain shine through in terms of terps etc.
His NL#5 seems to affect structure, yield, vigor, finish time more and add more of a potency/oomph boost at least that was my impression from the hybrids I had.

Heres an old postcard I got from the Dam from the canna museum with the original Northern lights a long time ago when it got a cup.
I grew out 00 seeds version of it and was pretty disapointed. It was like taking a trip down memory lane to realise it doesnt cut the mustard against more modern strains. Hope you find what your looking for.

Sadly, Dutch genetics went down the shitter already more than 20 years ago when I used to live there.
During the time that White Widow dominated the coffeeshop scene over there, early 2ks.

Sensi, Greenhouse, almost all of them stopped caring for their parent plants and seedlines and just started femming everything and going the Royal Queen Seeds/GHS route of marketing over product.

If you want dutch genetics I only know Mr Nice and Shanti and people say he lost a step as well the last few years. Dunno bout that, I have been consistently happy with what they have, never really disappointed.

The Flying Dutchman’s “The Pure” is supposedly still a quite original Skunk.
Other than that and MAYBE Nirvana (they used to be good) I wouldn’t grow stuff from the Netherlands anymore.

So many excellent breeders now with so many states legalizing marijuana. First seeds i bought were from europe but now i stick with American breeders. So much variety and quality options now.

Only issue is that y’all felt it necessary to put chemdawg in everything. And thus have Hermie genetics in everything…
Aside from that I agree

Some places have some reg packs for sale.

Ya I might look into those.

Currently the only seeds that interest me/I am trying to get are Headbanger from Karma.
There is a vendor claiming to still have 2 packs, I am really considering but my seed vault is mroe than large enough as it is …

But if I had those then I wouldn’t have to worry about conserving a male or having to do an F2 seedrun asap and could just grow em for female selection…

The other seeds I never got my hand on and I always wanted is B.O.G. gear. I saw there is a seedrun being made by DougDawson here on the board. I might get lucky when those get distributed.

Aside from that, I am good on seeds. Rare Dankness has a couple variants I always wanted to try, other than that I wouldn’t know what to buy.

I was looking at KC Brains beans last night to purchase and they have a “Northern Light special” in reg form if your interested in pheno hunting. Everything Ive had from KC has been good, I might even give these go my self.
