A Shadey spot to grow, Perpetual organic no till

You wouldn’t have to bend them near as much if you just lay them flat and loosely hold them in place with short pieces of twist tie. I never tucked. Usually 3 ties/branch then as it grows along you take the one off the back and move it front. Then if you want to reposition a branch you just undo the ties and shift it.

I gotta find someone who knows how to use this Gaia Green stuff with promix. Flushed my 3 Pink Kush as they are getting burned to shit and I thought I used the bare minimum. Put a litre of RO thru each of the 2L pots after soaking them to saturation an hour earlier. Fingers crossed!

The wife saw that tent and light I bought on FB marketplace so worth a look I guess but I cancelled my account a year ago. Must have been boozing then as a few months ago tried to log in and no go. I’ll get the wife to keep her eyes open as she’s on it all the time. Chicken and garlic forums too.

My reluctant cuttings finally rooted so have 16 little plants going in that tent now with 5 in 2L pots so going to get crowded soon and the grow room is tied up for 2 more months at least.

I’ll need 3 spots for pollen collecting soon too I think. 4th spray with STS yesterday so shouldn’t be long. I’ll just cut off the branches when they start throwing balls and stick them in a glass of water to finish but need to keep them away from each other.

Biting off more than I can chew methinks.

Have you not gone to bed yet your up very early, fuck, I am up very early for me by 3 hours

Next doors 2 roosters started crowing around 5.30 and woke me up, they haven’t shut up since then ffs.

The bird feeder is empty and the damn things think it’s for them not the wild birds, so they sit underneath it and crow for their breakfast.

I want a tennis ball gun or a paintball gun, to scare them back over into next doors yard from my bedroom window, which is 20 ft from the bird feeder.

I was using the dry gaia green bloom fert all the way through my grows it’s a good base to work with having less N in it. I never had much problem with it myself but not used it with just straight pro mix.

LOVE THE UPCYCLE SCROG!!!

I HAVE THIS FOR THE PIGEONS (irony) THAT SHOW UP LIKE THE SHARKS AND JETS PUNKING AWAY THE SONGBIRDS!

We call it the “Pidgy-Cannon”.

It was initially for Celia, but she’s scared shitless of it so it’s now the “stop shitting on our roof!” aid. Best part is that it scares them without the possibility of hurting them; and when on the roof I shoot straight into the air and then try to catch it in my opposing hand to keep my dexterity up as I travel linearly through time.

Cool I will check out amazon and see what they cost, I was thinking of making something cheaper like a big catapult lol.

You could just build one out of a tube. The design is basically this but in a nerf gun housing:

I have some big rubber exercise bands I got from the phisio therapist after my wrist and neck injury, I could use that :+1:

Weedly Update.

Plants are going well, filling out the screen, I moved some branches about today, to space them out better as they grow. The Rh has spiked dramatically the last couple of days and has been running at 75%. The exhaust fan is running constantly and so are the heaters trying to keep up the heat. Seems a waste of heat as the cabinet is not getting any warmer than 72F atm, so I turned off the Humidity controller for a bit to try and get the pots to dry out a bit quicker after watering them on Friday.

I still think they are slow developing their buds, we are at the end of week 4 atm, I would expect this to be about week 2, starting week 3, size of buds. I am going to check for light leaks again. When I checked the last time they were in the house and the move into the workshop may have done something causing a light leak somewhere in the move. I can black out the windows in the workshop if it is.

I am slowly going to remove some fan leaves from under the screen, to improve the air flow down there.

Seedlings are doing good as well I will probably up pot them this week, as a couple are starting to look like they are getting hungry. I raised the light 6 inches and took out the 23w bulb it was a bit over kill with the other 2 in there as well.

Cheers for looking.

Your plants look like they are coming along very nicely! I still love the use of the “anger shelf” as a scrog net

Bloody hell, SAME! Even full tilt one of my flowering tents is hitting mid 60’s RH lights off and it’s upsetting. Damn weather instability does this to my indoors evertime!

My 4x4 after years of use has pinholes all along the zippers; rather than replace it I just swapped out all the bulbs in my basement’s actual lighting with green led bulbs. Once I did this I can freely work in the room no matter what and since the room is sealed off from the rest of the houses ambient light no issues unless I open up a veg tent before the 4x4’s lights turn on. :ok_hand:

You’re making me realize the reason my veg seedlings are so small is I have too much light going on. / :open_mouth:

Yeah after 3 weeks in there they are still not much more than 2 inches tall with about 5 mil between nodes. I did not realize all the bulbs were a 23w draw each lol, I took out the 3000K one and left the 5000K and the full spec one.

Thats still 46W out the wall for a sq ft, I could probably take out another but the heat is good for them. The furnace is not coming on during most of the day now. The morning sun heats up the house, as all the back windows face south, south west, and its stays warm all day, until about 4pm, when the sun moves over the top of the house. The basement temps are at 66F with 40% RH atm, upstairs where the heater thermostat is its 74F atm.

Staying up later all the time and getting up at noon. Bad habit and I need to get back on day shift to get stuff done. Wife is ailing so will need to be out in the whole garden a lot more and not just my pot patch(es). She’s got a buttload of plants started under lights in the shop and plenty of seeds will need planting. It’s going to take me a week of screwing around just to get the raised bed for my plants prepared so it can cook until mid June. We usually get a 2 week hot spell in May so all teh organics will be well broken down so I better not overdo it and end up with fried plants like I got in the grow room now. Those Cherry Noir are showing the worst of it. Fack!

I never hear our rooster. We’ve had a few at a time a few times but still don’t hear them. Bitch to your neighbour.

STS night and 5 min to lights out down there so off I go.

Anybody ever use a potato cannon with tennis balls? Might kill a pigeon but lots of fun. We had one back in BC and when you plugged it good with a spud it could punch a hole in the side of my parents big steel barn.

Been meaning to make one for years. Even picked up a BBQ ignitor for the trigger at the thrift store for $2 or something years ago.

Just a thought.

I was looking at those on Amazon. The wife said I cant have one lol. Its not the chickens fault apparently, its the neighbour who lets them out early on the weekend and I need to talk to him instead of firing things at the chickens to scare the away.

Mid weedly update.

Plants are still doing well, RH has improved now its stopped raining constantly and the heater and exhaust fan are not in a constant cycle fighting each other. I have reduced my watering amounts to help with that as well and its sitting around 60% the last couple of days with temps at 76F to 78F.

The lower buds are starting to make their way up through the mesh and are staking up nicely albeit small but, with small plants maybe I am just going to get small buds, not growing small plants before, I may be expecting more from them, so I am stopping my concern about their size and we will see what develops.

I took out 6 fan leaves yesterday that were covering some of the bud sites and improved the airflow a bit.

They are getting taller again, I hope they dont go too much bigger I can move some of the branches to new positions its the main stems that may cause problems.

Seedlings getting bigger as well, but not enough yet to top them up with soil, so they got a small amount of gaia green bloom ferts yesterday when watered.

Cheers for looking.

Weedly Update.

Still going well atm, although ambient temps have been dipping this week, with frosts still happening in the mornings so its cold in the workshop, night time temps have been in the mid 60’s F in the cab, maybe why they are not developing as fast as I thought they would. I checked the timer after finding no light leaks and 1 segment was not completely up so they were only getting 11.5 hours of dark, but would not think that would make much difference

They got a TBLS of molasses and some cal mag today in 1L for the big pot and .5L for the tester pot.

Got a few leaves dying off under the screen, more from lack of light and old lower fan leaves more than anything else I think, as everything above is a nice colour with just a hint of tip burn or K deficiency on some leaves, I can never tell the difference until it gets much worse, hopefully not :confounded:

Seedlings coming on, pic is a bit blurry, its not your eyes out of focus lol. They have gained some height as I raised the light Wednesday, using to small pieces of laminate flooring, and cutting some slits in the box to hold the flooring in place, red neck and cheap as it gets, but it works

Cheers for looking :+1:

Looking like it’s turning out to be a good run, I like the wire shelf screen. Sorry could you refresh my memory, what varieties are you running?

Yeah I am surprised I haven’t fucked it up yet lol.

It’s actually a happy little mistake of Big Bang x Big Nosed Kate which is pedominantly a cindy sativa, I gave some to friends for outside grows last year, and they did quite well and got to between 8ft and10ft tall prioducing around a k of dry bud per plant, so I wanted to give them a go myself, to see what it smokes like as I still haven’t had any apart from in some gummys.

As they have never been grown inside it’s a bit of an experiment atm to see how they behave. Both parents grew to 5ft when flowered with large cola’'s. So I am hopeful to get some good buddage for a small plant.

Its been a busy week, I lost track of the midweek update.

Ambient temps have been up the last 5 days, drastically the last 2 getting up to 27C or 32F. The fan has been running non stop and the temps in the cab have sat around 80-82F with the RH at 55%. Getting a lot of condensation forming on the doors of the cab, so I am wiping surfaces with some bleach and water to prevent any mould starting.

The plants are slowing down on the stretch phase now which is good, the tip burn is a little worse so they are definitely getting enough nutrients from the little top up they got the other week. They are at 45 days from flip today, and I am beginning to think the Sativa Cindy side is much more dominant than I was expecting and these will take longer than the normal 70 days I normally give my plants, unless they start picking up the pace a bit more.

Its a bit like my artwork, I always think it looks crap in the middle of the project lol. They better hurry up, we are planning on putting the house up for sale at the beginning of July. I dont want to have to give them away again like last year lol.

They are stacking up nicely, could have some nice size colas if they eventually bulk up lol.

The plants are getting their mojo on now, got frost forming on the leaves and buds.

Seedlings are picking up speed, another 2 or 3 weeks and they will be gong to their forever home, so I am not going to bother up potting them, just going to keep adding a bit more soil to the cups as they grow up.

Cheers for looking.

Mid weedly update.

Ambient temps are back in the low teens again with rain the last couple of days, RH has been OK to deal with, no moisture on the inside doors of the cab.

Its funny how 2 plants are the same colour and 2 are lighter and have tip burn. I think it may be low potassium on the lighter ones although bud sizes are comparable to each other. I think I am going to give them another tea spoon or 2 of sulpomag.

Gained a little more height but not much.

Buds are definitely fattening up now.

Seedlings going strong, a couple were a little thirsty this morning so they all got a drink.

Had some new potatoes throwing out stems so I planted them in a 10 gal pot about 3 weeks ago, about half have come up now

Cheers for looking.

Some nice frost coming on there. There’s something so satisfying about growing potatoes, the surprise at the end I guess ?

Plants are looking good, I love the recycled scrog and cardboard box-tek.

Every time I plant potatoes I end up with the same amount I put in the ground, just smaller and I need to wait a few months haha.
