A Shadey spot to grow, Perpetual organic no till

Getting dark by 8ish here atm, our temps jumped back into the mid 30’s yesterday, real humid as well.

Reminds me of gravel pit fishing in the UK, the fish would all stop feeding during the day in the summer.

Cheers man, they came down Wednesday, the Green Monster had another little bit of mold starting and the PK had some aphids on a couple of small lower buds, and we were forecast rain the next day so I didn’t want to prolong it any more.

They got a good wash and trim and are now in a cardboard box to slowdown the drying process. Came in the house today from grocery shopping and it was very stinky, surprised the wife didn’t complain lol.

I will post some pics later.

Plants before and after chop trim and wash.

PK reached 31 inches tall in the end the other one was close that I had to cut down because it was dying from the boring bugs would have been the same. It smells great and the one I took down 2 weeks ago, I sampled some bud and it tastes and smells wonderfully fruity and berry, but it needs a bit longer to cure as the trichs were not well developed, so the buzz is short lived.

Before.

Close up.

After ruff trim.

All washed and lighter for scale, might get close to an once off it when dry.

Green Monster.
I an not sure what its genetics are but it definitely smells skunky all through the house lol. I think this one will give me slightly more weight when dry the buds are denser. I would grow this one again if it has a nice taste and gives a good buzz. I will have to wait and see. It got to 30 inches tall.

Before.

Close up.

After ruff trim.

All washed up.

The BOH are really taking off in the heat wave we are getting again, although they look a little stretchy atm, hopefully it will keep the buds further apart and prevent mould with longer node spacing. Not getting much smell from them yet. My window slid down on them in some strong wind the day before the pis were taken so they got a little bent out of shape. Luckily nothing snapped, I have screwed the window frames to each other at the top now so hopefully no repeats.

Cheers for looking.

Today is not a good day, I have been checking my weed as it’s been drying, but missed yesterday as we were out early and back late, I went to take the buds off the stems and jar them up this morning. All the PK has got mould over it and 30% of the GM as well ffs.

I am not sure it’s worth growing anything at our new place until I can create some kind stable environment in the house for growing and drying, even having a fan blowing over them hasn’t seemed to help. The humidity has been a 100% the last 2 days outside and between 80 to 90% inside the house.

I guess I will have to try again but better if the BOH make it through next 6 or 7 weeks without getting fucked with rot. I might just throw them in my dehydrator and dry them in 24 hours, they will probably taste harsh but at least I will have something to smoke.

Haven’t caught one yet but going out next week sometime to have another go. A guy I know in town clued me into his fave hot spot for them and it’s not far from the boat launch at the park. They’re on my bucket list so will be targeting them.

Trying to finish my new fly rod so I can try that out at the trout lake next week too. Having a lot of trouble with my eyes making the detail work hard to do. Days are getting shorter too and it won’t be long before it gets chilly out there. Dark by 9 now.

Bad year down south of you too Brother
Had a sweet plant about 2 weeks from finish doing fantastic.
Went out 3 days ago I find Bud rot hidden in 6 of the biggest LONG Buds I have grown in a while. Cut below the rot using ISO each cut cleaning.
I carefully remove the upper and lower bud around the rot, and so far that bud looks good. The rot was just starting to turn one small sugar life to die off (a taletail sign for sure or Cats) I then open the bud to find slight browning but no soupy rot yet. Hope I caught it in time, Humidity dropped here but is going back up in 2 days
What to do?
Sorry about your babies

That’s shitty man. I imagine with the ancient house the insulation is nonexistent so you might consider building one climate controlled room with a little AC and a heater and drywall, and maybe not a dehuey if you can get away with it…

Cheers man, it’s depressing to say the least.

The storm is just the icing on the cake to end a week of drizzle and heavy rain. It’s been around 25c and 90 to 100% humidity inside and out. Only lost power for about a second, enough to have to re sett all the clocks, my weather station says the biggest gust so far was 36.4kmh not much rainso far either, the brook is high but its the 12 meter storm surge that is my main concern I have a sump pump now, just need to attach a hose if I need it.

I had to take misses Shadey to a periodontist last Thursday. Google maps said it was a 85 minute journey we gave it an extra 40 minutes and were still 2 hours late. The downpours reminded me of Florida, we had to keep stopping several times for up to 20 minutes as you couldn’t see more than 10ft in front of the car. On the highway when traffic was moving it was 40kmh due to about 2 or 3 inches of water on the road.

Yeah I only had a small amount of rot during the grow, it was after during the drying after chopping that I got some white cotton wool looking shit all over them after not checking them for 48 hours. I should have had the fan running faster and pointed right at them I guess.

The only insulation I have found so far in the newest part of the house is in the ceiling of the end basement and a bit up the basement stairs, as well as an inch of polystyrene under the vynil siding on the outside. No vapor barrier inside or tyvek on the outside, so air just moves through the house walls with little wind pressure. I have nearly finished the first bedroom, and taken pics through the process, might start a thread on the process of tearing the house apart and putting it back together how we want it. I just need to put on the baseboards and trim around the windows and doors and a couple of touch ups on the joints between the drywall on the ceiling between the beams I have exposed.

I did a Shou Shugi Ban burn technique on the floorboards after lifting and planning them. Looks quite nice the wife wants it done on the rest of the ground floor in the house, depending on what we find under the carpets.
