AC Infinity Refillable Carbon Filter - anyone try?

Seems appealing. 4" filter with one refill of carbon is eighth bucks. Refills are twenty bucks.

Regular 4" filter is fifty bucks, cheap one is like forty. Might make a play?

I have 3 and I’m convinced they don’t block out the odor the way the non- refillable ones do. It could just be in my head but my wife definitely mentions she smells pot more than she used to.

I can’t speak to AC Infinity specifically but refilling carbon is a dirty messy pain in the ass.

Not worth it then, I’ve got two choice Vortex girlies comin from spring box and they have a 4x4 themselves. Whats your preferred brand for efficacy?

No I’ve used only ac infinity filters historically. I’ve no experience with other brands so my comparison is directly between refillable, and non refillable.

I used to use a big MountainAire filter back in the day. I don’t bother now here in Colorado.

I’ve read that you can recharge the activated charcoal by putting it in the sun for a few days. I haven’t tried it.

Try eBay A/C infinity store, they are much cheaper with free shipping. :+1::facepunch::wink::sunglasses::v:

I have the 6" refillable carbon filter for my flower tent, it seems to work ok but I’ve never used non-refillable for comparison. It does a decent job with the scent but it’s not 100%- if you get close enough to the fan exhaust it gives off an almost overripe fruit scent

I got the 6" refillable AC infinity several months ago. Still working great, so I haven’t refilled it and it’s my first one so I have no comparison with the single use. I can say though, that it didn’t seem to be a big money savings, but it seemed less wasteful and I have more brand choices just shopping for carbon in the future.

I just hung my 6-inch ACI refillable last night and wanted to give it 24 hours before I formed an opinion. We have a GG#4 going and I have yet to have an ACI filter completely stop her. The refillable can is no different. It does limit the smell to an acceptable limit for us though. You have to be walking right under the vent to catch a whiff of her.

To be fair, there is an inherent tradeoff between tightly packed charcoal and air flow. It’s hard to have both without a jet engine powered fan like the old Vortex ones. I think ACI tried to find an acceptable balance between fan noise and smell removal.

I agree with Foreigner though, I think it’s going to be a messy refill.
