Accidentally Bred Strain

I’m a novice to growing & last year 2 strains crossed paths when I grew them outdoors. One is an auto flower Northern lights & the other was Drawoh’s Chocolate Thai F4 which was a male. So I harvested seeds from the auto Northern lights from the cross. Wanted to know if anyone here has ever done a cross like this before? Would love any info.

What was the flower time on the Thai? Sounds like you will have some really short flowering sativa leaning progeny…

Those would be “fast versions” aka shave 1-2 weeks off flowering…

The Auto gene being recessive, it takes a pair to express itself. This generation has half of a pair, they are carriers, but “passive”

Well, that’s the thing, once I moved them outside last year during the summer months, I failed to keep a journal on both of them. Once they were outdoors, the chocolate thai, well I thought, was doing well, until the summer heat/sun most likely “made it flower” so it became a male.

Still new to this and being that I accidentally crossed them outdoors lol now I’m trying to do a test grow. I’ve tried 7 seeds since November 2021 and they all failed me. The last 3 seeds I tried(started them in early March this year) finally gave me little guys. Once they got bigger and stronger(maybe about a foot tall with a good amount of leaves) I moved them to a 5gallon bucket bag (mixed with cococoir & regular dirt mixed with 4-4-4) and put them outside a few days ago. With the weather fluctuating last night, I hope when I check on them tomorrow that they’re still alive!

Chocolate Thai and Norther lights sounds great!

Check out this thread regarding the same topic.

@AzSeaindooin420 has some great punnet square documentation.

Remember that the OG loves Cannaporn so the more pictures you tend to post the more likes you tend to pickup.

Can’t wait to see some NLxChocolate fast photos… :call_me_hand:

Nice little plant, tight structure.

Just curious, did you top it or did it split itself into two main stalks on its own?

Oh nah. It’s 2 separate plants, I ran out of 5 gallon bucket bags and dirt :joy: so this is a first for me to grow 2 in 1 5G bag.

Ah, yes, I see it now!

I had one split on its own a while ago and at a glance it looked really similar. Anyway, nice plants, I’ll look forward to updates.

Alright, here’s some new pics of the baby. I lost 1 stem due to the crazy wind we had the last couple of days here…very sad day indeed. Until I can actually smoke it to see the potentcy, I’m thinking of calling the Buzz Lightyear or just GG’s Buzz.

Oh boy…so we got 1 male and 1 female. So you know what that means next! SEEDS! So since these 2 were seeded from 2 originals, what makes the seeds that come from these 2? Does that mean these seeds are gonna be photos and not feminized?

Looking good! The purple in the male is pretty.

Going to be f2 of the strain you created from the auto and the Thai.

P1 was auto female P2 was Thai you crossed them making a hybrid strain which is considered f1 generation. When two plants from the f1 generation mate they make f2.

They will be photo periods and regs. 25% will be auto

What name did you decide on buddy? Buzz lightyear or GG’s Buzz? Haha

Thanks for the input! seriously I haven’t locked down a name yet! I need “testers” to tell me how potent these bad boys will be :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I’m leaning towards Buzz’d Light but need to sample it make sure it stands up to the name :joy:

New update on Buzz’d Lite. The feral kittens have gotten to it. They’ve taken down 4 of the stems :woman_facepalming:t2: ! I know these stems are premature, but I can’t risk losing any of them! I’ve worked so hard and come this far! Hopefully I can use these stems for canna butter. I’ve laid out catnip for the kittens and cats away from the baby and we’ll see what happens. image|375x500

Looks like I saved it! I used something for the 1st time and will now forever be in my arsenal…banana peels steeped in water for days in a pitcher. Compared to what it looked like before the banana peel juice, I’ve got more buds than ever!

Nice save! Looks happy

You can also ferment some bananas with brown sugar or molasses. @BeagleZ has been showing me all the wonders of Korean Natural Farming.

I have a question. You said the Thai became a male. Are saying it was a female and than thru pollen sacks? That would be a hermmed female.

:green_heart: :seedling:

The last male he used was a true male looking at the picture.

I also was wondering on the original male plant if it had both.

If it didn’t and you got seeds to spare I wouldn’t mind trying a few .

Great looking plants hope you don’t mind I’ll pull up the lawn chair and watch there progress. Thanks
