Adding a dedicated circuit for grow area. GFCI breaker’s?

Hello. For the years I have been growing my power outlet I installed inside this medium size walk-in closest is on a 15 amp breaker that also powers outlets and lights for 2 bedrooms/mancave/den and bathroom. Wife plugs in Dyson vacuum and if my oil filled heater is on for grow space it’s tripped occasionally at start surge. When built I specifically had 12/2 used on all 120 circuits so I bumped this particular breaker up to a 20. It holds but when at max load starting vac or heater kicks on lights dim and it drags down momentarily.
I decided it’s a good opportunity and finally time to pull in another circuit dedicated to growing closet and am in process with all the headaches of pulling wire across the attic and the hassle of a vaulted ceiling :anguished:. Using 12/2 again and putting in a double gang duplex box.
I have the unused spot for the breaker on my panel and have a question for growers with dedicated rooms and power circuits.
Do any of you use GFCI/AFCI breakers??? Since there is water in the equation and power cords I’m not sure. Overkill? This circuit will run everything from lights to fans and mat heater for clones, humidifier and space heater as needed. I do industrial electrical/equipment and it’s not something I’m familiar with as far as code requirements.

I think it’s a good idea to use gfci if you can afford to. Better safe than sorry. Good luck

If water is invoked, yes. I had some sketchy outdoor plugs on an ancient house and switched them out. I slept better.

Not for my grow though, but in general.

Edit - oh yeah and a pool pump/filter too.

For a small area and just one breaker its not a big add on. Hell a roll of 100’ of 12/2 is $100.

A good idea. You probably will not need it, except that one time. I used to do some industrial as a technologist.
