I was schooled in a “gifted program” which pretty much meant everyone was neurodivergent in so many wonderful ways.
Issues are that having most of my gradeschool with like minded types, then similar situation in college and during my career I have the curse of NOT BEING USED TO dealing with non neruodivergent peoples in such volume.
It’s really depressing but that’s solved with my bong.
Former “gifted” kid here. And yeah, I bet the makeup of my classroom was similar to what you’re saying.
A few years ago I heard a psychologist refer to gifted children as having a learning disability. But like the opposite of what most people think of when they hear the words “learning disability.” I couldn’t stop thinking about that for weeks.

I am Dyslexic and I have ADHD, Wife is ADHD and our son is waiting on a combined assessment for Autism and ADHD. Three utter weirdos trying to rub along in a house together.

Sure, there’s all these cool places to explore along the way that make the trip more meaningful and engaging, but - we got testing schedules to hit people. I don’t care what you’re interested in, go pee and we’re onto the next station
I’ve used this thread as a motivator to finally train myself to throw those fuckers out every time. AND replace them. My wife is thankful for all my kindred OG’ers
