oh… I got mopey and quite angry but that doesn’t translate to the typing well hehehe.
Gotta roll with it though.
Just bugs me that the bikers of all things… that sack of seeds has probably had a good 100 or more grown from it by me and my friends and no hermies at all so this is why I was like what the flying fuck is going on here. I only lost 2 Long Valley Royals but that is okay because the nicest 3 that carry all the smells I am looking for are just fine.
I was really looking forward to Slurricane and Darlin’s Net but will get to those again indoors this winter.
All in all I can’t complain. This grow officially started with my christmas 2022 seed pop and rolled on from there. I found an awesome female in the 2017 shishkaberry seeds I pheno hunted, found a killer frosty stud and 5 wicked ladies in the Long Valley Royal… and the OGKB 2.0 is putting out STS induced pollen finally and right on time to use a bit on an ogkb 2.0 for some feminized beans… super stoked for that… downright excited about it
Sounds like you’ve got every reason to let a few hermies just fall to the wayside without letting them get to ya.
ya things are shaping up pretty good and the nanner fest is over LOL
Forgot to post pics the other day after taking so many.
Let’s do the smallest first… that would be the two Fire OGKB f2. The smells on these two are just awesome. The OGKB is kinda forfront but it’s kicked up with an extra bit of fuel notes. Gonna be interesting to see how these turn out. The parents were fantastic plants and I’m excited to see what these F2’s bring to the table. The taller one is my favorite and is stands out because it is showing more Fire OG traits in the leaf type and in how the flowers are stacking.
Grape pie in the #7 pot… she was the worst off from the heat stress. She didn’t pop any nuts but she suffered in the heat and might not do as well as her clone sister in the 15gallon tote but she is coming around and smells really musky and fruity.
what’s next… How about the Girl Scout Cookies
and may as well go with Scoutbreath next. These sure are nice plants… I wish they were 6 feet tall LOL
#1 is my clear favorite , she smells so dank and divine… like a super dank bakery shop. She is gonna be killer smoke I just know it. I made a couple crosses with her for sure

I’ll take a break and roll a bat and I’ll be back with more pics
Well… today is day 35 in the greenhouse and I’m just resting up with a coffee and a joint while I wait for 7:30 to roll around and moving plants to darkness begins.
I took a bunch of pics today but I’ll start with pics of the whole greenhouse. Now we can see that everything is not perfect and some plants are feeding super hard. I was really hoping to pull another water only run but supplements are required here. Most of the plants are doing fine I’m just having a little issues with some is all. I did a ph slurry of 13 pots with lower leaf yellowing and dropping fans… low… came in between 5.6 and 6.0 and is not the range i want to see. I want to see 6.2 as the lowest it ever goes untill the last 10 days. Checked my well water and it’s coming out of the tap at a cool 6.7 so everything gets a big watering to run off tonight and we will see what happens. Despite the issues here and there I am very pleased with this grow so far. 5 weeks to go fo some, less for others. Hoping to have everything harvested by Oct 10 at the absolute latest.
anyways here’s today’s greenhouse shots from back section looking at the totes and from the door getting as much in the pic as I could LOL
It has been cold here at night, getting down to +2C so some of the plants are starting to react with purpling in the leaves. Don’t recall seeing this so early in the season but the cold doesn’t seem to be slowing them down too much. That said… I have not ruled out the cold nights being a problem for some of the plants and nutrient uptake which is causing yellowing out a few weeks too early. Gotta roll with these things and do our best I suppose. I am not putting any heaters out till mid september when I can stop moving the plants every day and hours here will be 12/12 naturally. That is why I choose 8am and 8pm as my dep hours because daylight mid september will be starting around 8am.
Anyhow, there I go rambling again LOL
how about a pic of @Tonygreen 's Stat Line … and sorry tony, I’m not the best photographer but when she is done I will take a few with a good back ground. She stacked nicely through the stretch and is looking better every day.
@crownpoodle I have some of these seeds for you and some shishka beans and pollen for you and @JAWS but the temps have been so up and down and mail from my province particularly , has been a bit on the slow side due to the wildfires just south of the main processing center where our mail goes. The last letter I mailed to the states too over 4 weeks which is not the norm. But I got ya man… couple more weeks and fall will be here and cooler temps.
K what else did I take pics of today…
Oreoz… nice plant this one is. I am looking forward to seeing her flower out indoors this winter. I knocked up 2 of her branches, one with OGKB 2.0 reversed pollen and the other with Scoutbreath #2 male.
kind of a fuzzy pic but this is one of the pollinated branches with the ogkb 2.0 rvsd pollen. My first attempt at making reversed pollen with STS has produced viable pollen which is kinda cool.
and the purpling is easier to see in this pic
Those are coming along great! Nice job.
thanx man
It’s not a perfect run but I am happy with what I am seeing regardless. Some of the plants are really filling out some nice tops. The shishkaberry from the seeds i made in 2017 (98 shishka x 2015 shishka 3 f2) … now this plant is really impressing me with it’s vigor, how she handles stress… like it didn’t happen … and her tops , for 35 days of flower are really quite impressive.
Can’t wait to see how she weighs out and how she smokes. I feel she will be fantastic in the breeding program so I’m excited for harvest time. I bet she will go easily into the 3/4 pound range perhaps more.
made a trip today that killed two birds with one stone as they say. Neurosurgeon appointment and met up with a fellow grower and swapped some genetics and bud. Added blackberry hammer, slurricane, gelato crush and the killer mk ultra cut. Those will show up in my grow thread pics at some point but for now they go in the slow veg group until i fire up the indoor in late october/early november.
Can’t wait to see what that MK ultra looks like. Next round should be quite the show.
Ya I have only seen pics of the Mk ultra , I don’t think I have tried it yet.
The clone is a little haggard right now but she will come around.
Going to do some grow room modifications over the next couple weeks to make things more efficient both for accessing plants and for heating/cooling.
This will be my first winter where I attempt to run only LED with the HLG 600Bspec in the veg room (7.5x7.5) and the flower area I will try this SF4000 that my brother gave me recently. Right now the total area of the space is 17ft x 7.5ft and has a work area in the middle with the 7.5x7.5ft room on the left and the 5x7.5 ft on the right. Both have single doors for access. This is fine for the veg room but the flower room is hard to get at everything with the door the way it is.
So the plan is going to be to simplify electrical for one. Each room will run off it’s own 20amp breaker and a third 20 amp breaker will handle the environmental controls… which are just fans and controllers.
That frees up my 220V 40 amp breaker which can go back to being a dedicated plug for my welder(s). YAY!!!
So no more HPS and Halide in the grow this winter unless things don’t work the way I am planning and I need … say a 400w HPS or 2 … we’ll see.
The current 5 x7.5 ft room will have the wall and door removed, the space painted and then I am going to set up my brother’s 5x5 grow tent. Then I can access the plants so much easier by unsipping the whole front. I can also redo fans and ductwork so the work area becomes a lung room for both veg and flower, requiring only one baseboard heater in the common area.
Things for me to ponder over deer hunting season… which opened today for stick and string and general rifle season opens on the 10th!!!.. We have 1 venison roast left from last year and 7 pounds of ground… maybe a dozen or so packs of cheddar smokies… freezer is getting pretty bare!!!
Sounds like it will be a much more streamlined set up, just make sure you have enough heat in the rooms led doesn’t produce much heat and will need supplementation.
It’s a 18 x 30 shop that is built with 2x6 framing and 3/8ths plywood for the walls and ceiling instead of drywall/gyproc. It is insulated to R26 in the walls and the attic as well.
The wall I built across the shop to make my rooms is also 2x6 framing and r26 insulation. That said, it can get into the -40’sC in the winter here and that cold is hard to insulate against.
Once I get everything set up I’ll figure out if I need to add another baseboard heater. The portable 110V Noma baseboard heater with built in thermostat is what I have right now. Handy little unit and kept the veg room at the desire temperature all winter while I ran the hlg 600bspec in there. Worse case scenario is I’ll need another one of those baseboard heaters so I’ll pick one up as well. Also need a couple motorized dampers for 6" ducting as well so I need to hit a bigger town and do some shopping.
So excitement this morning as a black bear decided sleeping in my yard was a good idea. When I let the dog out , she lit up immediately and was off like a shot . Good thing it was a young one or she might have been in trouble. Mind you my dog is a 160 pound female rottie with a serious don’t fuckwithme attitude so ya never know. Either way bear vanished into the timbers outside my fence and the dog did the perimeter of the yard , stopping to mark and sniff the air several tmes before she was satisfied that the trespasser was gone LOL
Still , I was packin heat this morning while moving the plants out. I’ve been stuck in my greenhouse before by black bears. Waiting till they moved off to make my way across the yard. Fun times
So plants are looking good. Just for good measure and because some are still a little pale for my liking… I dosed them with a teaspoon per gallon of Garden Pro 10-40-25 which is the mix rate for indoor. Outdoor it says a tablespoon per gallon but I am gonna stick to the indoor directions. I have heard good things about the garden pro products and they are cheap and readily availlable near by.
Plants are on day 40 … 30 days to go for the seeded branches to be ripe
There are some plants that will be ready before then and if so I’ll harvest the tops and leave the rest while the seeded branched ripen. I like to give 6 weeks from pollination and this seems to give me nice ripe seed.
Took a few pics this morning so I’ll post those up once I get them off the camera… battery just died as I was hooking up the usb cord LOL figures
oh ya… I was gonna post some pics LOL
Pics are from yesterday , day 40 of light dep.
2017 Shishkaberry (female B-1)
She is putting on some weight big time. I am so pleased with this plant , I hope she smokes as good as she looks and smells. Still a few weeks to go yet so I’m looking forward to seeing how much more weight she puts on.
Some pics of the 2 totes of OGKB 2.0
when these girls are done you will see why I like to refer to this cut as “yield cookies” because she puts out where a lot of cookie types fall short. She also carries potency that provides a really nice high that is not short like a lot of the boutique stuff these days.
Love this plant
I guess Oreoz is up next. The whole plant is turning purpe while the flowers are mostly green. This girl is super frosty for day 40 of 12/12. Haven’t smoked this strain yet so I am eager to see how she finishes.
lastly a couple cola shots of Stat Line which is an @Tonygreen creation. She has three main colas and the two more dominant ones ar nearly a foot long of tightly stacked buds. She is a little slower to gain momentum that the other plants but I have a feeling the next couple weeks she is going to catch up
kind of overcast today and we have forest fire smoke rolling in again from somewhere far away. Gonna take advantage of the cooler temps and get some defoliating and tying of branches done today. Probably try and snap a few pics while I am at it.
Have a great weekend everyone !!
Okay so today marks the end of the 6th week of 12/12.
Fighting issues of course but overall I am pleased with the results so far.
I have checked what I can doing soil slurry tests and I’m thinking that it is most certainly a soil issue compounded by cold overnight temperatures affecting nutrient uptake , mainly magnesium and phosphorus… which we all know is no good and will cause the various issues present in the garden… being purpling leaves as well as pale color and yellowing off. All primary symptoms of cold affecting the plants ability to maintain vigorous health.
Flower formation and resin/frostyness seems pretty good but these plants have handled some pretty brutal conditions with the temps getting up to 125F/52C several times and night time temps getting down to 2C to 6C for the past 3 weeks I’d say… right about the time that some plants began to want to yellow out.
So I just gotta roll with it and really hope I don’t need to start adding a heater at night but will if i have to. Also some of these plants will be ready before the allotted 10 weeks and this is why I didn’t seed the Long Valley Royals as some of those can go 10 weeks and some will start to amber out after 8weeks and be ready at 60 to 63 days. We will see how that goes.
So here are some pics from today , just random pics for today to give ya’all an idea where things are at.
Haven’t shown these much at all in the past few weeks since the culling of the intersex plants but here are the 3 Biker Kush V1F3 that made the cut. I didn’t pollinate these either as I just want them for stash. I did keep clones of each one though So far they are pretty much identical in every way. Same smells, same growth in structure , leaf shape and flower formation and they are all very nice and frosty. These seem unaffected by whatever is ailing other plants in the garden and I have a theory on why. These are smaller plants in the same size pots as the ones having issues so the denser root mass in the bigger plants has less soil to protect it from the cold… that is my theory because all the smaller plants are all nice green and healthy looking. Always trying to figure things out hehehe. Next season I am going to try and adopt the high brix methods… we’ll see… still learning.
Whats next… oh, check out these two Long Valley Royal’s , one is showing the purple ancestor with it’s rosy purple calyxes. This is normal for the line and not attributed to the cold.
A couple plants hae the purple calyxes and a couple are green. These two pics show the two expressions nicely
and a further example of the smaller plants in the #7 pots doing better than the bigger plants in the #7 pots… The 3 Scoutbreath’s… super healthy and packing on the flowers and frost.
More next post
some random garden shots
and last pics for now
GSC
and the little Chem D. This is a loud little plant and she is loaded with frosty buds. Can’t wait to try this one in a rolling paper
man i love going thru all these pics and the updates fell behind but all caught up now. had to be stingy with the likes im close to out
I grew the StatLine indoors. Super dense bud. Great smoke!
ya that Statline plant smells so good… really looking forward to this one finishing. Looks like she has a ways to go yet. If she goes past 10 weeks I’ll have to finish her under the lights inside.
@SHSC-1 whats the Statline smell like?
it has a pungent sweet smell , not fruity just sweet and then it has this kushy smell to it.
Hard to place right now but hopefully it keeps that sweet dankness into the cure. Can just tell it is going to be top shelf smoke.
