I’m back at it again, folks! This time, I’m looking to bring some order to all this madness. In the previous installments, I’ve done all kinds of Afghani pollen chucking. I’ve been selecting and smoking, making seeds and handing out testers. Big thanks to all the OGers who have been helping me out by growing seeds and posting up pics.
Based on all the things I’ve tasted, seen and grown, I’ve got a pretty good handle on what’s in these lines. I know I’m looking for and what I want to make from the seeds I have.
For this installment, I’m going to target the creation of 2 strains. These will both use the same male (BlackDak x Black Afghani). For those new here, BlackDak is a hybrid of a Black Domina pepper pheno crossed to Dakini Kush from Centennial Seeds (Afghani Kush x Pre98 Bubba Kush). BlackDak inherited large, abundant trichomes that the Bubba is known for, while mostly keeping it’s peppery goodness and killer indica potency. The Black Afghani is from USC, a vintage, pure, pre-Soviet Afghani. It’s strong as hell, and smells of delicious fuel and berry.
Once I collect pollen from these guys, I’ll start up the females in the 2nd half.
Female Group 1 - BlackDak / Black Domina / Sweet Afghani Delicious (Black Domina S1)
Code Name - Double Domina
The goal here is to bring the line back toward either Black Domina or BlackDak. I would love to stabilize down to something with all the bag appeal and resin that the Bubba brings to the table, but with some of the terpy-ness of the Black Afghani and the raw quintessential indica stone of the Black Domina. As Black Domina is already a 4-way mashup of Afghanis, I feel like it’s a very BD thing to do by throwing in some more Afghani influences that bring even more to the table.
Female Group 2 - LowDak x Cherry Queen
Code Name - Polyghani
I feel like this is the balance of opposites. The male represents the most couchlocky, nighttime indica high, while LowDak and CQ are about as far on the opposite end of the spectrum as you can get for an Afghani. LowDak brings in sweet lemon smells with a bit of hashiness, and CQ (obviously) cherry but also some pine. Structurally, the LowDak is everything I want out of Afghani. It yields well, grows easily, produces nice, big trichome-laden buds and tolerates all my f*ckups. I love Afghanis. While I appreciate what the Kushes do in crosses, I don’t love their smells and I think their effects are too vanilla. I want a stable Afghani that breeds like a Kush.

These will be taking a bit of pollen from the males here, and also some Malawi x Panama pollen I collected from @8k_feet’s male plants.
thank you, and I’m glad you’ve had good experiences with them. I can’t remember what I sent you most recently, but there’s a few from the non-dakini lines that I’m really thinking of going back to eventually. Specifically - some of the Afghani crosses with Black Leb. Also the Black x Blue leb cross I feel has some potential, but could benefit from some selection and inbreeding.
