I think it’s chop day for males. I’ve collected a ton of pollen off of these guys. I think the ones in back have produced enough for equitable representation. I chopped one already yesterday, and did another collecting this morning. Time for a big tent cleanup, and then I’ll branch pollinate my females this weekend.

Yessir! The males are “BlackDak” x 88G13HP, which is the percentages listed there. My females are BlackDak. So technically this is BlackDak IX. The next time when I grow those seeds, I’ll probably hunt a female to use as a mother to backcross with, and then I think the black pepper smell should be prevalent in all of the seeds grown from that.

They’re half sisters. I reversed a Dakini Kush female (Pre98 Bubba x Afghani Kush) and used fem pollen from her on a Black Domina => BlackDak and a Lowland Afghan => LowDak, and have been messing around with both of those off and on for a little bit now.

Same reversed female pollen from Dakini Kush (Bubba/Afghan Kush) on two different females:
Lowland Afghan x Dakini => LowDak
Black Domina x Dakini => BlackDak
They’re very different, but share the same pollen donor.

Flower Day 32 (First pollination)
Pollination day for me hearties. Pulled each girl out of the tent, save the one who is about two weeks behind. I gave each of them a sensible defoliation to open up the lower canopy. Resin is already show its pretty face, crawling down some of the leaves. The next few weeks should be fun to watch.
If you notice, the left half of the tent has been stretching more than the right side. I have been messing with a staggered shutoff at night. The left side get turned off first, and the right side 30 minutes later. Interestingly, that extra 30 minutes of light on the right side seems to be compressing the size of the plants pretty significantly. And if you look across the back wall, you can almost draw a line across the tops like \.

I thought I had some of your blackdak…but did a transplant this morning and it turns out I have 4x lowdak (fem) going!!! Gonna be awesome!!!

I might have sent you both… I’m not sure. But I love both strains. Lowdak is probably easier to grow and higher yielding. This one has some pepper phenos I really like.

I had 9 plants (4x lowdak + 5 other strains) in solos under a 9w 4k led…the lowdaks were already looking hearty before the transplant this morning. Really looking forward to these!!

I started them this way. 12h on one side, 11.5h on the other side. I’m going to switch them to 11.5h each side now, with 15m offset between the timing and see how they do.

BlackDak Flower Day 41
Evidence of pollination is coming through. I think they have 30-35 days left. Left edges are starting to look a little light. I might crank up the EC a little more. I just bumped up from 1.8 to 2.0, but I might give them a week at 2.2 or 2.4 even and back off from there if needed.
They’re drinking hard. I’ve added about 10 gallons of nutrients each week for the last 2 weeks. No rise in EC, so they’re definitely chugging on it.

I got a big whiff of pepper on the one in the first picture (which is also my favorite one so far). I think I’ve identified the phenos that are similar, so I need to make my way through at lights on and get some definitive identifications.
Things are going to fatten up pretty substantially this week. I think there’s probably a little under 5 weeks left, since this one tends to run pretty long. I just finished 2nd pollination yesterday, and they’re done with stretch. Just fattening up the buds from here I think.
