AJ Sour Diesel Stretch?

Hey all,

Just wondering what your experiences have been with the stretch I should expect with the AJ SD cut? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I hadn’t grown it in a while but mine stretched about 2.5x.

AJ sour diesel is sativa dominant so I’d expect a lot of stretch from her.

I ran a few clones I was gifted as a newb… it was said to be a good SD cut although I never found out anymore about it… and didnt back it up. Still kicking myself…

Anyway, my point is all the reading I have done on it indicates 2 to 3x in stretch for a good cut. Mine did 2.5 or more.

I hate trellis, and if need be, I will stake them.

This is week 1. I can obviously bend them down lower as they start stacking. Should I put a trellis on it asap? Gonna see how long these can go without them. I like over vegging rather than under vegging. It’s in soil, so I want the root mass to get bigger before flip.

Start doing something, by week 3 they are going to out grow that tent!

By the size of pots there in chances are there gonna explode , might have to cut a hole in your roof before they slow down. Good luck though you should be able to tie them down .

Yeah that tent isn’t gonna hold them long is it??
Tie them down somehow. A net at this point won’t work
I’d personally tie them down to there own pots.
@BigDave you’ve got your work cut out for you bro

2-3x is what I have always heard . On another note , I am going to say that those plants look to be stretching the way they are due to lack of light ? No idea how long they have been vegging but to my stoned ass eye it looks like that atm .

I also agree you need a bigger tent lol Not a bad problem to have

I have zero LED experience so wasn;t sure. Am basing it off of the hundreds of pics I have seen. Hence why I could be wrong lol

Too be honest the thread doesn’t state the led power I don’t think. Led should be around 35w per square foot so a 4x4 should be 560w at the wall ideally so when they say it replaces a 600w hps at half the power it really doesn’t.

You could drop your light down right on top of them or very close . Don’t have much experience with led but with hps it seems to keep the stretch in check I’ve even had plants go up past the light and it seems to slow the stretch down.

I don’t need extra light. With just the small light on, I get 1200+ppfd at the top of the canopy. When I have both lights on, you can imagine its way more. I keep the small light on full blast, and the bigger one turned all the way down. I measure PPFD all throughout the canopy. When I have both lights on, its 1800+ PPFD at the canopy with the big light turned down.

They’ve grown about 8-10" in the first week. Using power SI foliar to keep the stretch down. I plan on harvest parts throughout the grow cycle to know where I like the effect .

Well I’ve not grown it so my advice is more about sativa in general. If your using a PPF meter you obviously know what your doing so I’ll not comment further. Good luck bro. I’ll be watching how this turns out :+1::v:

You are in a for a show. I might have to take them outside to finish the last few weeks.

By the pictures I think so also
It’ll be worth it I’m sure though :+1:

Ok I screwed up. Veg way less next time. Definitely use a screen in a tent. Cut a lot out on day 14. Tuck and tuck.

Day 28. Cut off a few tops last week. Still stretching.

I honestly see a lot of wasted space from not doing a bit of lst.
Keeping night temps as warm as day also reduces stretch. At this point only bap or ethephon may help stop it.
