So I have recently had to move my grow to a shed and the temps locally have been in the 60 and 50s big rain storms. My humidity keeps siting at around 80 to 99 and I am trying to clear it out but not having much luck here’s a picture of the girls
Not sure if it’s root rot. Do the plants already have a more or less tight and solid rootball? If yes you could try to pull out the plants from the pot and simply look at the roots and take a smell. If something is foul you will smell it.

I am going to go check that out now. All I know is they were perfect green no problems till this last weather front came through which brought cold rainy weather and the humidity been high like 85 to 99 in there and temps of low as 50 so I am going to move them to a 4x4 put a heater in there with them and a fan to hopefully dry it up some see if that brings them back any
Update roots are perfectly white and no smell so I am guessing temps or deficiency so I am going to brew a tea they are now in a 4x4 with heater and multiple fans going got humidity down to 63 percent and temps are heading back up to 60 I am going to brew them their first tea and see if that brings them back
Yeah, looking all good, so the roots are ok, no rot! ![]()
Maybe just try to reduce humidity, then they should come back to normal.
Keep it green, ixi
Thanks man i appreciate the help
One more thing i noticed: Maybe you should put some insulation under the pots (e.g. styrofoam) to keep the soil and root area a little bit “warmer” and prevent cold coming from the floor. You said you had to move your grow into a shed, maybe it’s too cold from below?
Bless, ixi
You know I thought about that I will slid some under he tent and also put them up on other planters so they are off the ground like I said the problems didn’t arise till the cold and rain came in the other day got a few more days of it. The were out there for like 2 and a half weeks before I had any problems show up. Thank you again
You are on the right tract my friend… Looks like the plants are too cold overall. When roots get cold the plants stop forward progress. Remember cold air holds less moisture. Cold damp air dose not allow for transpiration thus stoping nutrient uptake and the plant starts eating stored nutrients in the leafs. You can see this starting with the yellowing of the older fan leaf. Sounds like a heater in your future or possibly a high quality dehumidifier as they can raise temps slightly but not more than a few degrees. For anything above that a heater would be required. Insulation is a great idea below pots but consider insulating the room the tent is in aswell if a heater is not an option and run the lights overnight to help warm up during the colder night cycle. Cheers @Officialpassionfarms
I have the lights on over night normally for that reason but temps still hit the low at 50s and 60s. So I did move them to a 4x4 and I put a heater in there I am going to put the heater on its own timer so it comes on for like 15 min of every hour and try to keep it around the mid 70s to 80. Also I believe you are correct the humidity is super high and the temps are low so makes sence on nutrient lock out going to see what I can do to fix this hopefully the heater on the timer will do
As always be super careful with heaters… They are a necessary evil when they are required. Be vigilant put them on a safe surface preferably secured. Auto shut off to me is required if you’re going to run a heater in your garden. You may spend a little more for a garden specific heater but it could be a good long term solution. The timer is a good idea but a temp controller is even better. The sad part is you’ll probably be dealing with heat sooner than later and this will all be unnecessary till the seasons change agian. But at least you understand your space and you can be ready for the seasons. Cheers @Officialpassionfarms
Yeah hoping the timer will buy me enough time till next week when Tampa’s are back to 70s and 80s outside. Hopefully by fall I have the building framed insulated and sheetrocked yeah heaters scare me but unfortunately think it’s needed for a couple days not sure if the one I have has auto shut off or not
That is a solid plan… I’m hoping the heat comes soon it will save you a lot of extra efforts. Cheers !!!
Thank you man i appreciate it
Keep on posting your progress pls, interested in how they will turn out! ![]()
Good luck, ixi
It was originally under this and probably where I will go back to once I can get them back in check
looks to me like Ca excess and bs of that K and Mg lockout
stop watering for a few days – also you can transplant them because they aren’t to big yet. root rot = to much watering
