I highly recommend this Ppfd meter if anyone has issues with Light burn with Leds:

Aight let me make the start then. So I just post amazon links to products I like/recommend in here, right?
Since I recently ordered, let’s start with some scissors:

I plan to do a side by side comparison when I am trimming between the chikamasa with fluoride coating, ac infinity with titanium coating, fiskars with titanim coating and regular fiskars.

Lots of people use these hygrometers for jar curing

always good to have one like these to calibrate other hygrometers:

just got these to try out as well for LST instead of plant wire:

there are other variations as well.

Ofc the almighty boveda:

here is a list of all you need to make your own aero cloner off of amazon (maybe modify number/pack sizes):

a tote to house it all like this (might not be the best choice):

And then you just need some PVC piping that fits on your pump. For the pump above that would either be 13 or 9mm diamater PVC pipe. Probably need 4 corner pieces for that as well and if you are like me and want to make an intersection in the middle, not just a PVC line around the edges of the tote, a couple of T pieces.

All that is left then is a drill with a bit the size of the spray nozzles so you can drill holes in the PVC pipe to insert the nozzles and one of these:

or similar to drill holes into the lid for the netpods and their plugs.

I recommend to cut the bottom of the netpots off with scissors/clippers (it’s a pain in the ass but better than getting the roots out of the netpots later, trust me) and just insert the top collar of the netpots into the holes in the lid. Mine fit quite snug but can also glue them in with some silicone or sth.
I also recommend to tape over the plastic lid of your tote before drilling holes in it and give it enough support. Otherwise your lid might break while drilling.

And there you have it, your very own DIY aero cloner. The cable for the pump goes through one of the plugs as an exit so no light gets to the water and nothing disturbs our roots.

The biggest challenge for me was always to find the right tote here in EU to house the hole thing. Any tote I ever tried would spray water out over the sides. Still in the process of getting my own aero cloner water proof or simply getting a new tote.

Oh and for the ā€œLochkreissƤgeā€ i.e. the addon for your drill to drill the holes for the netpot collars is available in ā€œuniversalā€ form as well but they don’t work very well, trust me, I tried. Better get one that is exactly 55mm i.e. 5.5 cm

Alright enough for now.

Am I doing this right?

Absolutely! Notice the small green label ā€œAdā€ next to the product title. That’s where our system modifies the product link and adds a label to demonstrate our commitment to transparency.

Thanks so much!

The least I can do. By the way I didn’t forget about the patreon thing, just didn’t get around to it @LemonadeJoe still on my radar.

Will post more stuff here soon then. Especially in Germany you end up buying a shitload of stuff through amazon cause it isn’t easily available elsewhere.

Another thing I recently discovered and am currently trying out are these:

They are meant for driveway installation and sowing grass on top. So it’s extremely durable. Need about 4 of em, might have to cut sth to size but I enjoy using them as the floor of my tents as they keep the plants from the cold ground and also make sure that they don’t stand directly in water if there is overflow.
You could also use them for wick-watering systems with the bottom of your tent becoming the water tray.

Might as well make a list for organic soil stuff from amazon while I am at it:

Still missing:

  1. compost. If you don’t have your own, I was recently made aware that in Germany you can go to many ā€œWertstoffhofā€ places and buy compost made from our municipal bio bins at prices like 30 bucks per TON. Meaning you can more or less get as much as you carry for next to no cost.
  2. Malted Barley - now this is by all accounts a key ingredient and I swear by it as well. Unfortunately there is no suitable option on Amazon for it (yet). But you can order it from brewery shops where you admittedly have to buy a huge sack of it but it is quite cheap and will last you for years if not decades which brings us to the last missing ingredient:
  3. Rice hulls. Same as malted barley you can get that from brewery shops. 200L bags usually, again will last you a long time and doesnt cost that much either.

For mixing your soil in batches I recommend these (they also make EXCELLENT cheap options for large pots. Just need to drill enough holes in em in the right spots:

(could be cheaper in your local DIY store)
And if you can afford it, one of these is a godsend when mixing soil:

Or you go big baller if you got the space and use one of these to mix the soil:

Of course you usually don’t mix soil that often but when you do, trust me, you will be happy if you got one of these helpers and not have to do it with a shovel or by hand.

Also:
Guano products are kind of like cheating in organics. If you read into how they are sourced, it isn’t sustainable etc.
But they just work so damn well and are relatively economic…
For the same reasons (sustainability) you might want to replace the peat moss with coco.

/Edit

Oh and get a worm bin going. I also still have to do that. You can never have enough earth worm castings and ordering it online all the time is not the way.

You can always use them if you grow on soil:

The links in the post above are fine too. Sometimes the preview is not generated (I need to figure out why), but the referral code is there. So thanks!

Bunch of viparspectras are exceptionally cheap on amazon right now.

I paid quite a bit more ordering from the heavily researched shop from czech republic where I compared prices for a week.

Seems like a great deal, prolly gonna snag one of thes
