Glad to hear @GCC.Bud
Will send more for sure
: )
Pretty much both of these. The idea is to put a few snips in an envelope and mail it like a regular letter while having enough protection to survive. If you were to mail a package across borders you would need to declare it through customs and you’re not supposed to mail plants of any kind to another country ( potential for invasive species and pests) without the proper paperwork. I hope this answers your question
And it’s fun : )
The clone shipper is only meant to be used with artificial plants. no worries here
Something unrelated made me think maybe for long term clone storage or postal journeys?
For both bugs and mildew burning sulphur (hot box) leaves a coating of something that’s highly resistant to nasties, idk for how long etc but it might be worth checking out if mould is a problem?
How difficult can it be to burn a bit sulpher?
Diy your thing?
Do you want to do the envelope dance @Star_Dog ?
: )
Hey bud, normally I’d be up for trying it but I’ve got my hands full just now.
WEATHERS GETTING COOLER! good luck to all the new ideas lol
I bet this would work good, you can even make a 3rd layer on one side… and piece of paper/card on the other
If it’s thick enough it may, if seen crushed seeds in a similar DIY method
2 layers is as thick as a washer… three layers might b the spot
But all my tires are tubeless.
Nice techniques you are working on. Looking forward to see it evolving. I came across this recently and it could maybe help to increase the odds if the suspected shipping time is really long.
Hey guys I’ve got some clones to ship long distance, how long can i reasonably expect the clones to live, going on past experience 9/12 is about average for letters?
A couple of things ive considered is a spray of sulphur and topping then growing them out again to increase the stem diameter and root ball to hopefully make them last a bit longer, idk what do you folk’s think?
I’ve had parcels lost in the post for 11 days iirc, only one was alive barely.
I’ve rooted cuts from usa that where over 3 weeks in the mail system
Preparation of mums pior to takin cuts and then the cuts themselves
Good packaging
Travelling temps
Abuse in transit
And the receiving peeps cloning expertise and patience
All play apart in the success
That’s a pretty big plant to be postin ^^^ big plant = higher demands kind of
I was thinking canna cure for extra protection of cuts
You only need one to root and it’s a win
The cuts and the mum are in good health, its the pheno not having the heaviest stems im just a little concerned about?
3 wks is encouraging that is good news.
The only way to aliviate that concern is to flower a clone and see
I wouldn’t post it out till then
Theres been some talk about dipping the cut end in wax to help with moisture loss.
