Upgrading from 4 1000w SE open reflector hids to 6. I know I need at least 22000 btu of cooling and I already have a 15000btu window unit. I’m thinking of just adding a portable unit and running the airhose through the wall into the window of my bedroom instead of dropping another $500+ on a bigger window unit. That way cooling is coming from 2 parts of the grow room and can reduce hotspots. Question is how big of a portable unit should I go with. I know they’re less efficient than equivalent btu window units I’m just not sure how much less. I can get an 8 or 10000btu portable unit pretty cheap and the 14k units aren’t ridiculous.
