Any guitarists here ? I’m a jam band guy myself

They say that about Les Pauls too. No problems here. I have both a Gibson and an Epiphone No problems. The Gibson is a 2013 and the Epi is a 2016. But they dont get much travel though.

My favourite guitar epiphone Les Paul deluxe I’ve had better guitars but I’ve kept this the longest, bloke I bought it from toured with it has a couple of dings but it plays real nice
Think I have to bring it to the shop making noise think the input plug mite be gone
It used to have gold nobs but I like the black and silver better,I did have little skull nobs on it but I’m to old for the skulls

I’ve heard most Les Pauls tone improves noticeably after having the neck fixed and the consensus is it comes from the most common way they’re fixed- a drum stick in the neck!

Tip… use a stereo jack to replace the mono jack. Short the ring to sleeve connections. This adds staBility to the plug when inserted.

That is cool. I went on an exchange program to Mexico when I was 17 and one of my roomies brought his guitar and a cigarette pack amp. Dude would walk down the Main Street in our town with his amp in his shirt pocket just jamming😄 I thought that was super cool. It was a Marlboro light pack, shorts, not even 100’s😂

As if I didn’t stand out enough being a gringo with bleached white hair:man_facepalming: I got honked at a lot, I thought it was a compliment until somebody told me they use their horns down there just to point out stuff to other people and don’t only use em out of anger or to stop a crash. People were pretty much saying,”Look at this fucking guy!”:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

(post says his amp is ridiculously loud at 4)
It probably doesn’t get a lot louder past 4, but just starts to add overdrive more than volume.
I have played guitar since 1983. I have several, but my favorite is probably a Telecaster.
Today my taste is pretty diverse, but I used to play in a jam band before they were called jam bands, in high school :stuck_out_tongue: My band would do 2 sets. First set was a variety of stuff. Second set was Grateful Dead set.
Today I just play for my own enjoyment and the audience is the walls, and occasionally the neighbors when I rarely crank it up.

I think I’m gonna try my hand at building a Tele. How hard can it be? Maybe parts from Warmouth?

No idea, too scared to find out! I have heard that a lot of guys dime it and then turn down on the guitar just using the volume knob as an overdrive. The funny thing is I’ve been playing on and off for over 20 years and I only learned of this practice recently. I just turn it to the volume I want, dime the volume knob on the guitar, and let the pedal handle how much growl I want. I don’t even really mess with my OD pedal’s settings anymore. I found a sweet spot for anything from metal to Floyd and just leave it alone. My Fuzz/OD pedal on the other hand gets played with for every son I play on it depending on what I’m doing and I still don’t know how I feel about that much adjusting.

Supposedly guitar building is the only woodworking that needs to work in thousandths of an inch, but that precision is much more important for acoustics. With the electronics I think electrics are way more forgiving. If you do it definitely post up some of the process!

I will do that. It’s expensive tho. But when done, it should be exactly as you want. I think Warmouth uses genuine Fender parts too. That’s a plus.

Oh yeah it is! I remember looking into prices through Warmoth back in the day and it was pricey then, in the early 00s.
