Any guitarists here ? I’m a jam band guy myself

61 here. used to do the club scene and did a cd in 1997 but i was a vocalist then. i actually got a guitar for christmas in 1982, but didn’t really play it often. was a better singer so i focused on that after guys from school wanted to put a band together but no one wanted to sing. so i did. lol i wish i would have stuck with the guitar. especially acoustic as i enjoy singing and playing with the acoustic now after getting a Taylor 410 in 2017.

I’m
Just now learning to play and sing at the same time
I started with country songs and cowboy chords and moved up to blues and rock.
Most of my old buddies have moved to the other side of the river. All the good singers I used to play with are not around now.

“Fire on the mountain” is a good ez one to jam along with if your looking for dead numbers. Cant recall a Weir one atm. Of course American beauty album for acoustic numbers. For the country i like El Paso never tried to play thatbone though

I’m working on Bobbie’s Feel like a stranger

Thats a real good one i like the wah wah effect on it. I know Jerry used something else but it has that kind of sound. Bob did do some nice rhythmic playing on that one. I enjoy his slide stuff too

I have a ehx Qtron but it sounds like “Jerry’s mutron”Sometime the Bob parts are harder than Jerry

Rhythmn is very hard and never gets the same attention as a lead. I really appreciate the 3 pieces where guy plays rhythm lead. Alex Lifeson of Rush immediately comes to mind. God i love his playing.

Plus Bobby changes chord voicings a lot. Makes it even Weirer.

Cool board. Very Jerry with the distortion plus.

anybody know a good hi-fi sounding flanger effect that can do a very very slow modulation? like so slow I could play a 4 bar chord progression within one cycle of the flanger.

actually, do you know any modulation effects that can go that slow?

I have a ehx Qtron

nice pedalboard trowertripper.

Yes they really are but my favorite player hands down is David Gilmour. His tone is the best not to mention his bends.

I like David a lot. I like Greg Lake, and Keith Richards as well too.

Of course cant foget Keith, you play open g tuning ever? Its a ton of fun try it if you havent especially with bar chords. Ez stuff sounds good af

I love the crisp playing in Trees, and I have thought about going back and delving into some of the acoustic style stuff in there. I had a friend that played about all their stuff just beautifully, and most of it was very doable now that I am older.

@nick131740 I love open G tuning. That and Dadgad give me a valid excuse to have 3 12 strings that I keep tuned to standard E, Open G and Dadgad which goes back and forth to Drop D lol. Got tired of breaking strings tuning up and down. I also have a really slick cigar box guitar that is tuned to Open G. It’s set up like a 3 string but has 3 paired strings which gives it a bigger voice unplugged and really makes it growl with the P90 and resonator can get down and dirty plugged in.

@zephyr
I’m not a flanger guy myself but some people are really liking the Keeley ECCOs flanger

I would also look at the deluxe memory man and electric mistress from ehx
The original
Memory man is quite sought after

I would especially look for expression pedal controllable units. Then you can control the rate with your foot.
The super slow/fast settings are usually more available on modular synth modules too. But,don’t get into modular. I’m sorry for bringing it up.

Maestro Echoplex - EP 3. I bought the one on the left in '72 from
Zoppi’s. The one on the right was given to me as it was not working.
$100 power supply and it was good as new.

Maestro Rhythm n Sound

I put my name on the list for one of Analogman’s King of Tone
in '12. A year and a half later, my name came to the top of the
list and I was contacted by them asking if I still wanted one.
You betcha. That was the V4.0 version shown on top.

In the interim, while I waited for the one I put my name on the list for, the first version of this popped up on the bay and I bit.
Version 2.0
Both of these are going for insane prices on feebay.

Pedal board circa '13

Pedal board circa '16. It has not changed since. The only addition to this since '16 was the addition of the Fractal Axe Fx II XL+.
The only problem is it’s a bitch to get into the back of my truck by myself.
Three of Strymon’s best in the upper left corner

Let me borrow that Alex les paul . Whats it got '59 humbuckers? My es 339 has em and they are very creamy sounding. Even with the gain jacked up. Did it come with that tremolo
