Man, I just found this thread! @Marcus420, I can’t believe you have a 'Doc!! There’s a waiting list to get on his waiting list. Outstanding score. :grinning:

I’ve got a '94 USA Strat Deluxe, a newer USA “Roadworn” Tele, a Steinberger knockoff, a Takamine acoustic, a no-name Dobro, an Erlewine Chiquita, and a 1980 Yamaha ES-335 copy. I have a little Fender Blues Jr., and a Crate VC-50. I have a Tube Screamer, a Ross compressor, a wah-wah pedal, a volume pedal, an analog delay from Ibanez, a tuning pedal, and a Line 6 POD HD500 multi-effects processor.

I play mostly Classic Rock, old Country, some Blues, and a good dose of Phish, and Dead tunes. I like to learn how to play songs, but my ADHD makes it difficult to sit and run scales, or do sync exercises, so I’ve never been a great player, or played in a band. I’m the house band in the back bedroom.

It’s great to see all the builders here too. The ability to create a musical instrument from scratch is a skill worth having. Great thread @Marcus420!!

I’m completely self taught and running scales and exercises saps my enthusiasm to play. The pro tabs on Ultimate Guitar that plays the song and scrolls as it plays and jamming over drum tracks made a huge difference in my playing. I am also just the house band of my own home though

Everybody should own a tubescreamer. I like to use mine as a midboost in front of a high gain amp. And i have a second one i play on a clean amp to get a descent bluesy crunch sound.

Ain’t nothing like that tube screamer Ross compressor combo :sunglasses: playing the Yamaha through that I imagine you’d get some pretty sick Trey tones!

I’m a jam, funk, and jazz guitarist mostly but I’ll play anything! Biggest guitar inspirations are Jerry Garcia and Frank Zappa. I’ll have to throw some pics up of my guitars at some point! Main rig is an Eastman thin line hollow body though a fender twin reverb

Bit of an old pic, much more to the collection. Guitars, banjo, ukulele, and a bunch of stuff I sorta play. Mostly it’s the bases though. I played in a country band for a while, but ADHD makes it really hard to practice anything. So I mostly just pick up an instrument and put on a song to play with. The genre changes often from jazz to folk to pop music and most anything in between.

cool thread! i used to play guitar, but favor percussion instruments nowadays.

Ive seen Trey from Phish, Jake from Umph, all the big jam band guitar players really. My favorites are still Charlie Hunter, John Scofield, Leo Kottke. Those guys for sure are kinda next level. So many amazing guitar players, too many to list.

Check out Hermanos Gutierrez, pretty cool desert kinda vibe with guitar duo.

For the record, another drummer here….

This thread made me think of a Johnny Winter tune where he sings about his mistress, a.k.a. Guitar.
