Holy smokes!!! Spectacular animal!!!
Been getting skunked on ducks the first days of opener. Need those frigid temps to push them down from our north zone. Pheasant opens in a few weeks here.
This cat snuck up on me while I was sitting down doe calling. I git uo, saw it 15’ away ready to pounce. Brought up my Marlin Lever 30-30 bush gun and nailed it first shot. I almost shit my pants, I was that close to being it’s dinner.
That’s so awesome. That cat is at the top of my hit list lol. I wanna taste it so bad!!! I finally get to try some bear this year!!
Cougar are delicious. It was scary though, I was his lunch. Most people got theor whole loves in the bush without seeing one, ive seen 4 in the last 2 years now… dangerously high populations right now… highest in the world actually. No wonder the deer are scarce
I’ve seen 8 in the past 3 years. Hardly ever had a shot. Although not ever ready to shoot them. Only when I’m cooking grouse. Or am gutting an animal. I missed one at 150 yards with a muzzleloader and really wished it was modern…I can wait to try the meat. I’m leaving for the weekend for the last of elk where I’m at. Well see what happens. Been successful for bear. Not much else this year…
Good luck on the elk! It all draws for elk where I am. It’s like winning the lottery to get one too.
O darn. I thought I had it hard here getting drawn for a elk? We can shoot spikes just buying a tag. Have to pulled for cow and bull.
Absolutely stunning and good on your wits and quick movements… i dont imagine getting shredded by a cougar was on your list for the day.
I’ve seen two since moving to Iowa and there are more and more sightings weekly but bobcats are everywhere here…
Almost had to shoot one off a deer I shot last year cuz it decided it was easy dinner
I want to bag a a bobcat as well. Have you ever? I think that would be a good looking mount. Since they are so abundant, do yall not shoot them?
Oh we shoot them and trap them lol
Only allowed three per year though, that starts Saturday
Awesome, that’s wicked cool. I have ever only seen two in the wild. When I was 12 and 14. At the time a camp brought up their cat and was looking for it,. First time at least. I thought I had found it.
For the past 20 years or so I have been saving up points for a full curl ram. Someday. Someday.
We’ve been having an increase in bobcats here too. Saw my first wild bobby last Spring. The DNR here has been thinking of having a controlled season with a lottery but I guess the populations haven’t been quite high enough yet.
Hahaha pretty true at that. People had no issue making turkey go exctinct and deer damn close to it here in just flannels and blue jeans before we had a good game program after the 1920’s. That being said, bottomland is my favorite all-round pattern. Nature figured out spots and stripes was the way to do it long ago. And keeping your ass still.
There have been many sightings of them in my neighborhood lately.
I had one in my backyard.
This is a spot where 2 Bucks met and clashed last night. I tracked 2 sets of buck tracks to this location where the 2 battled it out digs slides broken branches. Then the 2 sets left the arena. That would have been cool to witness. Now to find either one of them!
Bow season here in MA. Loving it.
I got skunked bow season this year for deer. Im hoping my property produces a buck in the late season. I didn’t have luck this year for modern or muzzy elk and deer as well…I did get a bear though
