Do you have more names or info?
Hi,
I identified some private messages I had with previous members. The information I have mix BCGA and OG I guess, not sure what is what. Some where in both. Mainly BCGA I guess.
Apologies mainly private information and lot of firewall info.
Trying to check BCGA archive to see if something match.
Coopdog reporting in! What a long strange trip it’s been, and so much has happened since the old overgrow. Time flies when you are having fun I reckon! I even stopped smoking and growing for 8 years or so when I realized retirement was in sight and I might actually get there.
Then I found myself retiring early due to an injury, sold my place in the woods out in the Pacific NW, and moved back to Ohio and my roots. A few months after moving here they legalized it and made home grows legal and the world got a little brighter.
I went to an old site called the Canna cabana and an old friend still had some of my Pre 88 G13Hashplant and butterscotch Hawaiian x g13hp seeds and returned them to me 10+ years old. I soaked them in a 1% peroxide solution and got them to pop!
I put together a stable of oldschool stuff, and this spring I am on a G13 kick it seems. Right now in the lineup is my Pre 88 G13HP, G13HP x Purple Rhyno, Old Ohio G13, which is said to come from the same pre88 g13HP I have had for all these years, and I also have another very old supposedly straight g13, not sure if it is airborne or pacific cut. Got another oldschool Ohio cut called Dumpster, which is also a g13 variety, and William’s Wonder from the old Super Sativa Seed Catalogue and Matanuska Thunderf**k, plus an amazing bagseed strain my friend gave me from a dispensary sack he could not remember the name of. We called it headkicker, because that is what it does.
So there ya have it. I could go on and on about injuries and heart surgeries and other mundane things, but there is the grow info and reintroduction! Feels very good to be home. I have not frequented any grow sites since really.
Peace…
I remember you man! Hey hey!
Hey brother! Good to see ya!
I was a member about 20 years ago. Maybe a little longer. Different handle.
Had to step away from growing, and smoking entirely, as the potential legal consequences were to significant, and I had alot to lose.
As things are starting, slowly, to become more “NORML”, I’m getting back into things. And man . . . things have changed. I remember growing some of the first lowryder plants, was the first seed I bought through the mail as everything before that was bag seed, under CFLs, as the only LED light on the market was the UFO (that you needed to keep within 2” of the plant).
Back then, “high” THC strains were 9-11%. Now it’s closer to 25%, and it’s tough to navigate and find your bearings. Feeling like a bear coming out of a 20 year hibernation.
Hey there and good to see you!
my Pre 88 G13Hashplant and butterscotch Hawaiian x g13hp seeds and returned them to me 10+ years old. I soaked them in a 1% peroxide solution and got them to pop!
Were these the same butterscotch hawaiin x g13HP that were making the rounds of the Treatingyourself.com community 15 odd years or so ago? I seem to remember people finding some nice males in them if they are.
More than likely or from more of ndnguys stock thru him. I shared that particular cross all over the world back in the day. He gave that to me before he shared the straight pre 88 G13HP with me because he loved the way my BSHxG13HP grows went. I have 9 that I made 10+ years ago that were pre 88 G13HP back cross x 3 crossed back to the bshxg13hp that I had kept as a keeper for years. Two of those crosses I made back then have been able to be germinated and are out there growing now. That last bsh one is the last to try of my old genetics from 2012.
Damn man, Makes my heart go pitter patter. I am apparently all out of likes!
Mine are like 14 yrs old
I try to pop a few every yr
but they are too old
Bare
Just signed up two weeks ago, returning after taking a hiatus for 24 years. Feels bizarre to type that out. Was on OG a lot when I grew, strainbase before that. I remember BOG well as well as a couple of absolute goobers who would mix it up in the shark tank. Now I’m growing again for the first time since 2001 so I have returned. Seems like I missed a lot but I will say I’m stoked you’re “still here” aka back when I made it back
Welcome back @Blue_Seven, glad you signed back up, place has changed alot , OG 2.0 is a much better place. This community is the best on the net.
Barefrog, mine were old as hell too. At least 11-12 years old. I soaked them in 1% peroxide solution and they all popped but one, and so far got two different ones, the Pre 88 G13 backcross x 5 and that crossed to Purple Rhyno, and still got the backcross taken to Butterscotch Hawaiian G13HP as well to open up and see where they end up! So far success on these old seeds has been amazing using the peroxide soak. Give it a shot next time you try to pop some!
Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself - while my account here is fairly new I was a member of OG before the raid. While I wasn’t an overly active contributer (I had a lot of learning to do), I always think back to how much I enjoyed reading all of the content from members like bushyoldgrower and how much it shaped my view of cannabis and growing. Anyways, it’s good to be back and I’m looking forward to contributing to the new Overgrow.
Glad you joined back up here at OG 2.0, @pengi . Still the best site on the web
Thank you for the welcome! Glad to be back. From what I’ve seen so far, OG 2.0 has exceeded any expectations that I had. Hopefully I can help others as those before did for myself.
I still have PTSD from Overgrow being shut down along Richard Calrisian’s bust in 2006, to the point that it took me 19 years to convince myself that maybe, it’s safe to sign up for the new Overgrow and start relaying the information that my friend who grows shares with me (I don’t grow any illegal stuff myself, I checked my local laws).
Please someone assure me there are no DEA insiders among OG’s current administration, and their servers are not “SuperMicro” brand and are not compromised by any government backdoor, whether American or Chinese.
Remember, only the paranoid survive (and maybe not even that, since the author of that phrase was the CEO of Intel, currently being crushed by NVIDIA, TSMC, and others)
Yes, I am like Hiroo Onoda, the Japanese holdout who was still fighting 29 years after World War II had ended.
