So any one ski?
Does any one admit to smoking before racing, as Bodie did? I have drank with Bodie and raced in benefit races but never had the chance to burn one with him.
So how many ski? Figured as a pot forum I would start a related topic.
Never skied always boarded never high and not very well.
Quite a few years ago Mt Snow had 2 or 4 person covered like clam shell like lift to keep you out out of wind. Perfect place to burn one, the lift attendant was engulfed in a cloud of smoke when the gondola was opened.
I’ve done some skiing over the years, but I’ve never smoked before racing. Personally, I feel like it could mess with my focus and energy, especially when you’re trying to keep up with the pace. I’ve had a few drinks with Bodie at benefit races, but never had the chance to burn one with him—he definitely had a more laid-back approach to things. Skiing and racing are about pushing limits for me, so I like to keep it clean and sharp.
Doesn’t everyone fire one up on the ski lift? ![]()
I know in Colorado it’s more common than not.
Never skied but boarded and don’t remember a time I didn’t smoke probably every other time going up the lift.
Cross country skied? skiied? a bunch w my Dad in my teens.
Downlhill a few times as an adult. Once at Mammoth, CA and a few smaller places like Big Bear, etc.
Friend and i ALWAYS smoked while downhill skiing. He snowboarded. You feel like you’re flying. Recommended! It’s heavenly.
Skiing is like surfing on soft land. Perfect paired w weed.
I have tried it several times and have busted my ass too many times. But yes, I would smoke on the slopes.
There’s a canopy on their six-seater.
I haven’t partaken before skiing in years, but I’ve definitely smelled the telltale odor of vaped extracts in the parking lot at Mt Snow
But it hurts less to fall while high.
We would just go to a less travelled part of the mountain, sit down and pass a pipe around. A lifted mind, cold air in my face, swooping down a sugar covered mountain. Exhilerating.
Now i just smoke before walking our dog. No where near as fun but a lot easier on the knees!
I’ve lived all over the Rockies in Colorado. It’s a beautiful place. I work for this resort on the mountain In Vail. I would snowboard a little bit. They didn’t really have snow like real nice powder this one day. It was more like ice on the East Coast. I was actually going from ski resort to ski resort with some bread. The snowboard caught the edge wrong. I busted my ass bad. The blood coming out on my nose looked like a snow cone. I hit so hard it kinda knocked me out. It didn’t break my nose. But it was crazy. I did smoke and ski lift and gondola.
We don’t call it ice in the New England area, refer to it as Northeastern Firm ice is so skating rinkish.
Me and my boys used to call it the ganjala instead of the gondola when we would hotbox it out. My one friend would always clumsily fumble his gear around and take forever to load his skiis to prevent others from getting in with us so we could smoke in it. Not sure that would fly nowadays with how crowded the mountains are. We would always find a nice secluded glade trail to smoke in if we couldnt get a gondola to ourselves. I dont ski as much nowadays but vermont is awesome and u can catch a whiff of some smoke every so often
Cannabis and lift chairs go hand in hand… that’s why they space them out perfectly so it’s hard to tell who was smoking what lol… plus you will wish you had a joint if you do need medical attention these are remote areas with very limited medical facilities. Some much less than you think lol Be careful out there Cheers !!!
Heading to Hunter Mt on Friday morning. One day trip.
Lots of clouds of smoke on that hill.
We spent 30+ years living in the Vail Valley. I worked for Vail ASSociates for 5 or so years as a lifter and skiied 7 days a week in some capacity or another. Got fired for getting stoned along with 4 other guys. Funny thing was…the guy railing on us was a cokehead and just sold a gram to one of the other guys. We tried to get him to not narc on us…but as a ladder climber… he did anyway…so in my exit interview I dropped the dime on his ass and pulled the ladder out from under him. Heehee…I never left a job in fired mode w/o taking others down with me. Homey don’t play that game.
Haven’t skiied since we moved. Too expensive and too many people out there now. I had my fill of tourists, for sure. Had to buy my first pair of gloves in 40 years this year. While living there I’d find a pair almost every week…along with cameras, wallets, etc. All courtesy of folks who were having too much fun (drunk usually) to keep track of their shat. ![]()
Did you live in NJ and were involved with sports cars?
More than a few years ago, I was riding the 6 person bubble lift they have at Snow to meet up with my friends at Corinthia. All by myself on a busy Saturday so i figured no chance of smoking. Got paired up with two other random small groups. We’re chatting on the way up and someone casually asks if we all smoke and wouldn’t mind boxing the bubble. Everyone agreed and started pulling out their joints and laughing about how awesome it was to get a chair full of random stoners ![]()
I smoke to stay focused and keep the soreness to a minimum. My two current favorite strains for riding are 5150 triangle kush x chem91 from CSI and Americhem dream from night owl. Usually try not to smoke anything that clouds my mind too much unless its a powder day
Went to hell.
ten pm last night got dizzy and started having hot flashes turned into a non functioning person.
At 4:30 still dizzy called off trip had no sleep and all hot flashes all night.
After putting out trash and donations at 5am burn one and went back to hot flashing in bed.
So Sunday is snow kills that day aiming for Friday or Thursday for my next try.
Skis are tuned and waxed.
Stay Tuned
This weekend is the worlds we find out if Lindsey should have stayed retired and a chance for Shiffrin to add to her total.
Sounds like the terrible flu that’s been making the rounds in the northeast. 1/10 do not recommend.
