Any tips for popping old seeds?

Hey y’all so a while ago I got some seeds from @Gadarien possibly Thai or Mexican from the 80’s. I’m just wondering if there are any special techniques you guys use for older seeds or if I should just try my luck with a paper towel?

Techniques for The Germination of Older Seeds

I got some Black Mamba seeds way back before the original Overgrow.com got shut down, and crossed them with some Bogglegum from BOG. I then kept breeding the best subsequent male offspring back to the best mother. They were pretty big ladies, with enormous 13” fan leaves that turned gold, maroon and black in cool temperatures. Sometimes old seeds can take a while to germinate. I have done all kinds of things. Take little toilet paper rings the cardboard, and put sandpaper on the inside. And sand them down. Definitely hydrogen peroxide helps. But I found the old bag that I had I couldn’t germinate them at all, so I just threw them away. I read somewhere where it can take up to 16 weeks. Sure enough they come up in my garden. I was very surprised. I didn’t transplant any of them.
