Any tips for popping old seeds?

Hey y’all so a while ago I got some seeds from @Gadarien possibly Thai or Mexican from the 80’s. I’m just wondering if there are any special techniques you guys use for older seeds or if I should just try my luck with a paper towel?

Sometimes old seeds can take a while to germinate. I have done all kinds of things. Take little toilet paper rings the cardboard, and put sandpaper on the inside. And sand them down. Definitely hydrogen peroxide helps. But I found the old bag that I had I couldn’t germinate them at all, so I just threw them away. I read somewhere where it can take up to 16 weeks. Sure enough they come up in my garden. I was very surprised. I didn’t transplant any of them.
