Any true crime fans out there?

I’m always listening to/watching various podcasts and videos on modern crime stories both old and new cases. Law and crime YouTube channel is a good resource for those looking for that kind of fix… currently the Idaho quadruple murder and Sean Combs legal battle are front and center. Idaho suspect Kohlberger was a criminology PhD student at WSU which makes this very interesting as the trial kicks off later this summer. Puff/Diddy/love haha whatever you want to call the guy spent almost a year in NY prison and now in court with a strong chance of a life sentence if convicted of all the charges. Courtroom sketch artist showed him with gray hair and goatee

Well, for whatever reason, I became enamored of true crime podcasts after I first got into podcasts by listening to Dan Carlin’s Hardcore history about 5 years ago, then I listened to My Favorite Murder. And since then I really only listen to true crime podcasts and the two stuff shows- Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know, and Stuff to Blow Your Mind.

My current true crime favorites, FWIW.

Mr. Ballen
Sword and Scale
Morbid
Anatomy of Murder
Park Predators
Crime Junkie

Criminal
this one deals with non murder true crime, usually remarkably ingenious capers, like the guy who only burglarized buildings through the roofs. And shockingly stupid things, like living with full grown tortoises in an apartment…hahaha.

I only listen to these shows when in bed.

There’s a very good old Canadian TV show called Masterminds which focuses mainly on American crimes but some Canadian ones too.

Like the inner workings of a conspiracy.

Then there was the guy who stole 50 million dollars worth of rare books just to put on his shelf. Climbing through ducts and elevator shafts and things of that nature.

A bit dated but a solid show.

Hey brother! My wife is a true crime junkie, it’s kinda bad. She loves a YouTube channel called That Chapter, I’m confident you would love it if you checked it out. He’s an Irish guy named Mike and he’s really really good. Also JCS on YouTube, but I don’t think they make many videos anymore. JCS is my favorite. Isn’t that right honey, @Stardawg2024 you’re the true crime guru?!

Has anyone heard of the murder of our friend Scott M. Engelhardt that went down on October 15, 2021 in Birch Run, Michigan?

I tried to learn what I could during/from the convictions of those involved. I believe it would make for quite a true crime story …

Bryan Kohlberger took plea deal last night according to the news so there won’t actually be a trial in August…life in prison without parole and no appeals. He did manage to waste a few years in the process since the crimes happened in 2022 and prob knew the death penalty was certainly around the corner otherwise

I have only followed this atrocious crime from a distance.
I usually wait for the case to be adjudicated, then listen to various podcasts, revealing all of the unsettling, creepy details.

I did the same with the recent Karen Reed case.

Just a senseless crime which is an overused term but wow literally no point and no connection to the victims… Hate to say it but watch him pull a stunt on Wednesday with the plea hearing and say you know what I changed my mind. That would be a disaster
