Anybody else get a little sad at harvest?

This seems like a dumb question because harvest is supposed to be a happy and bountiful time. I did a staggered harvest because of work so I been doing 2 plants a night. This is the last night. Kinda wonder if the remaining plants are like- where are all my friends and family disappearing to? Am I next? Lol. But in all seriousness I am a bit sad to see em go. Im always covered when it comes to flower so it’s not like I was pushing to sell it needed it to smoke. If you feel me…lmk. You’re not alone.

I have the same you actually kill a plant that you have been taking care of for months. fortunately I always try to take cuttings so that the plant or a “part” of the plant lives on

Hell no.
Like producing a product for a client. It is done.

After 7 to 8 months of worry [Insert worry here] it stops after they go in the jars.

I understand on both ends. I think it was just the letting em go…I think Ive been a little depressed lately. Lol. All life is life be it single celled or several. I took cuts from all of em too so they’re chilling in the 2x2.
And the cycle continues.

Thank you 4 the thread. YES!

Seems logical that an Earthling taking care of other Earthlings is gonna be sad about ending their life. I know why i grow and i know nothing lasts 4eva, but chopping is a sad time. Growing is so purpose filled in a realer way than real estate or customer service ime. I bet your weed is hella good too. Cuz u have relationships with plants.
Hats off.

Peace

Go perpetual . The next class moves in as soon as the current one graduates. It softens the edge.

Lol ya, I try to cut it as smoothly as possible so Im not like torturing to death. Idk its wierd in my head because is it really dead if you have a clone of it?
I think I get more sad if I mess up on my routine and they die before they could live its full potential.

Hell I talk to my plants when I’m in my space… haha

When I open the door to my garden and I say “Hello beautiful ladies!”
My wife’s face: :face_with_spiral_eyes:

in the end I always thank em for their service in my garden. It’s the least I can do. haha

No answer here was or is wrong. I dig the honesty and I expected a bit of backlash like man up dude we grow, chop, smoke.
Maybe I think into it too much but now that I have I’m going to write a book about it. Man wonders if the plants notice I systematically take two each night and wake up two less. They have to decide…should we kill this fucking guy first because he’s sleeping right now. Haha. I turn in a light and I see the plant freeze like it was supposed to be next to me. Okay. I’ll stop. I do thank you guys for being sports about it. Last harvest was with my ol pal Bella and my snap memories are making me a little sad today. Either way I got a bit of conversation and some honest opinion. And I’m not sure if it’s fire yet but it’s smells like a skunk took a shit in a bowl of fruity pebbles. It was the Romulan stuff I remember from years back. At least it sure as fuck smells like it.

I got em mingling. Lol. The 2x2 was so cramped. It is good they made room. Gotta give em some legs :love_you_gesture:

Now I gotta make haste and clean rip out the plastic, vacuum, replastic, disinfect. The process does make it a smoother transition.

But if anyone is suffering in silence. We are here for you. That’s what this is about.

The Secret Life of Plants had a bit where dude in a lab coat came into grow and torture chopped 1 plant. Next day plants screamed when he returned.

Berkeley shit baby.

If their purpose in life is to reproduce, then lets help them fulfill their destiny. I always pollinate a small bud on the plants that have “great spirit”. Im sure they feel fulfilled.

The plants that dont get pollinated, dont deserve to reproduce. :joy:

I’m sad because trimming is next! :disappointed: really don’t like trimming.
The other side is that by this time I can see the effects of any mistake in my care of them, and I want to start fresh

I do find a bit of hesitancy right before I make the first cut but I think it leans more towards “am I sure it’s ready” than sadness.

Yeah,me too…
But I found when I already start the next grow 2-3 weeks before the old one ends, that it gets me through it quicker because I need the space :joy:

I get fullblown anxiety when i harvest going to dial back a plant or two this year one man and too many plants and jack is not a happy boy this was the first part of my harvest this year i got 5 totes worth

.I start to think about the trim jail and all the prep and the days of pruning buds.I have tears of happiness when its all vacume sealed up and put in my cold storage.Ive been drying them and storing them in good sealable totes from Dollar General and trimming them as i go instead of going full bore for a couple days and getting burnt out.Saved a butt ton of stress this year and the smoke came out pretty good. When it goes into a jar or a vacume seal bag you wont know the difference
