Anybody homebrew?

Ive been brewing for the last 5 years, and most my beer all grain for the last 3 years. There is nothing like having ice cold beer on tap that you can say “Yup, I did that” .Well, except growing your own herb maybe.

Anyone else enjoy watching beer boil?

If I distilled I would either end up killing myself or my lady would. Mead is in the planning stage. Id like to raise my own bees for it though.

I ran mead through my still and tossed in a bit of charred French oak for a month. Damn it was tasty! I forgot all about that stuff

I have an IPA that was aged with charred French Oak. It is about 4 kegs back in rotation. Cant wait to try it. I bet that liquor was awfully fine.

Yep, I dabbled in all grain home brew for a number of years until my back gave out on me. This has been a nice adjacent hobby to shift into, but I had finally really gotten consistent in my brewing. Was kind of a bummer to give up, but alcohol and gluten suddenly disagree with my old ass anyway.

The honey is so damn expensive, you almost have to know someone with honeybees or whats one more hobby?

I grew up watching my father brew beer… those were good times. I helped him with many brew days… I fell in love with Sours because of beer, he made a Sour Fruit for the year

end party, and it was an explosion of aromas. He used to call it “women’s beer” (pardon the joke) lol, because it was light in alcohol and not as bitter as the IPAs he preferred, so it was more acceptable to everyone’s taste.

As a teenager, I discovered that the real treasure was the postmix keg, where he kept the IPA. What an amazing beer there was no way not to fall in love. It was a punch; just two glasses and you’d be floating. Strong, fruity, earthy flavor, and just the right amount of bitterness… Such great memories, such good times I shared with my father.

I inherited the brewery. I have all the equipment here at home, but it’s been sitting unused for a long time. I carried it with me to every house I moved to, got into fights with my wife, but I just can’t let it go… I want to chase the feeling that came to my mind with the very first sip of a good IPA.

I want to brew a cannabis beer… Throw some decarboxylated hash into the dry hopping and make a more medicinal brew.

I don’t even know if that’s possible, but I won’t rest until I try.

Thank you for this topic , it brought back great memories.

Haha the last picture isn’t my location, that’s at the distiller who welded it.
Just a Potstill and a Boka reflux for neutral.

Started with wine. Have a few around here that I bottled in 2011, and haven’t opened. Port is fun to make too. As far as beer goes, love it when the house smells like hops and mash simmering

We make tons of cider, backsweeten it and fill our korny kegs with it. We also have a kegerator for the brew.
