Anybody running thug pug gear?

I wanted to make a thread dedicated to thug pug strains. I always have a hard time finding pictures of thug pug strains online so maybe there is others like me and this thread could help us out.
If you know anybody who is running thug pug gear or has in the past please tag them.

I dont know much about gromer either so if you know his backstory please chime in.

Ill start first

Another reason i am making this thread is it seems like thug pug hype has died down severely. I remember almost 10 years ago with the peanut butter breath everyone was raving over it?

Anybody have any idea what happened to the hype and all the good plants people were growing? I see posts of stuff selling out within hours and now it seems like none of the drops sell out.

Am i missing something lol

Nice! I did see that a lot of breeders hunted through his stuff and bred with.

I think it has to do with the fact they never really ventured out past the peanut butter breath and the crosses. I’m sure they’re all fuego but people that pay for higher priced beans normally are looking for the new new

Yea that’s hear that his studley spewright mutant mendobreath f2 was the special sauce of his and once he lost it people said his gear changed.

Idk so i was hoping people who were growing 2016-present and can chime in with more info.

I do see a lot of strains outside of the “breath” line but it seems nobody is growing them to report back. Hoping this thread can help out with that.

The deep v i has is a death valley bx

I had heard that thug pug had stopped making seeds because there was a serious medical issue. There was a huge surge of buyers initially when he was hospitalized but then over the years, he keeps on keeping on, so the FOMO died off.

I love Thug Pug, if only for PBB which I am absolutely addicted to.

Generally speaking, he doesn’t breed for the aromas & flavors I’m looking for & besides PBB I have only admittedly grown a couple of crosses made with his gear. I will never have anything bad to say about Gromer despite the past rumors which I will not muddle up this thread discussing.

Heavy-hitter weed, though, that’s for sure :+1:

I had to give this a bit of thought before I chimmed in. And while most people think of Peanut Butter Breath when Thug Pug is mentioned, but I think his more lasting legacy is going to be his Garlic Breath. The Garlic Breath makes some fantastic hash and yields quite well. There is at least one cut that is floating around the East Coast.

But I think it comes down to consistency, and there isn’t as much in Thug Pug packs as many people would like. I only grabbed 1 pack of his original run of PBB and only flowered out a couple, but there is a lot of hunting to do to find something truly worth keeping in there. A lot of the plants were really just not good for any level of production. And I don’t know of any breeder cut or popular cut of the PBB; the clones out there were almost always from someone local or regional.

The Garlic Breath is definitely a better commercial producer. So that is why its stuck around.

But it doesn’t feel as though there is much consistency in his packs and too much hunting to be done with too little return on the investment. He has put out a lot of varieties, many only dropped once, but as this thread seems to hint at, none of them really seem to have any staying power.

I am sure his packs are fine for home growers. There are enough varieties from Gromer that makes it worth his time to keep producing seeds. Some one is buying them. And to be fair, once upon a time it only took one variety to make you a legend in the Cannabis community. In a day and age where peoples minds and trends change as soon as they become popular it is very hard tonhave any true staying power. So with at least 3 different varieties of note to his name, Gromer has deffinitely made his mark on the community and industry.
