Just got back from server roomā€¦

Yesterday in 14:00 UTC server got shutdown due to hardware failureā€¦ Restart didnā€™t help. I had to get into server housing to investigate the issue. It turned out that power supply had failed together with one of the fans.

The problem was to get replacement because it was Friday eveningā€¦

Anyway PSU is replaced and I hope it will last ā€¦ :pray:

Next time Iā€™ll try not to forget to inform everyone on our Discord channel and Instagram profile.

First weā€™ve got RAID mirror on-site and second also off-site regular backups. So I donā€™t think we need to be afraid of the data loss.

But it got me thinking into buying fresh new server for OG, because the site grows and it would deserve solid and smoothly working lightning fast hardware.

Currently we are slightly behind our real costs for operating the site. Donā€™t get me wrong - I love that the site gets this much attention! We are currently growing about 10 - 15 gigabytes of quality photos per months. Disk space is probably the highest cost for us.
