Been thinking of running aeroponics and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this growing method? Like how long to run misters ? Should I run them in the night cycle? Open to all information. Going to run hpa aka high pressure aeroponics . Was thinking of running misters 15 seconds every 3 minutes.
Do you own/willing to buy a chiller ? Its been a long time but I always had problems w/ root zone temps in aero/dwc setups and in turn root rot, I’d think its worse now w/ leds and higher room temps.
No I dont have a water chiller . Honestly was thinking of making a homemade one. Watched a video with a homemade water chiller which was a dehumidifier re configed to be a water chiller. Thats one thing im wondering im doing drain to waste for the HPA so the roots are not sitting in the water like dwc. Ill post a youtube video that I watched that im going to copy and try. Looks like its worth a try .
Yeah, temps is problem I ran into when I tried it ages ago. I managed a successful grow, but it was too much of a hassle, so I gave up on it.
Really eh ive done dwc and remember the water temp problems. I was just thinking if i have the nutrients outside the tent in a cooler environment that I might be fine.
My current tent regularly hits mid 80s, so even with rez being outside, unless running sprayers enough to keep root zone cool, could still run into problems. Might be able to separate and insulate root zone area too.
Heh, IDK, its all this that I found was turning into too much of a hassle for me.
Dont get me wrong, people make it work, and I 100% hope you can too if you decide to go for it.
One solution to the warm reservoir problem (if you have a basement and are growing there) I’ve heard of years ago was to dig down and sink the reservoir into the soil below the floor. Basically use the ambient ground temperature to cool the res.
I have ‘some concerns’ as what possible foundation complications that approach might lead to though.
Cheers

Haha have done that before back in the day. Was running the good ole hydroponic tubes.
Worked great I have even had to put aquarium heaters in it at one point towards the chilly seasons.
Yeah this way of growing has tons of problems I diffently know what to suspect. Dont mind failing over and over to find out how to get it right. Just feel like learning something new. This doesnt pan out aquaponics here I come haha
