Just curious if anyone else is using this coco mix? I tried giving coco a try last year and bought cheap compressed bricks and hydrated, buffered, and mixed with perlite. The whole process was a messy, pain in the ass and my plants turned to shit.
I decided to try again and give this pre mixed blend a shot and it had really good reviews. I must say, so far, my ecsd tester is doing amazing in this mix. I think it was suffering from some overwatering at first, but has really started blowing up to the point ive got roots busting out my pots.
The thing that im confused about is this coco mix doesnt really seem to dry out as quickly and is more “fine” in texture than the compressed bricks i used before. I always thought it was critical to water coco multiple times a day, but with this mix ive only been watering every other day and my plant seems to be thriving. Im sure once i flip her into flower ill be watering daily, but so far im really liking this mix

Yea, i gotta get some bigger pots soon lol
I currently run this mix, and have for about 2 years. I still buffer and charge it. It’s decent for the price. The bags I’ve purchased in the past had a better fiber to pith/peat ratio than the bag I just purchased about a month ago. That’s probably why it’s not drying out as fast for you. It’s not really a problem with more established plants. All in all it’s a decent mix for the money and, I think you’ll enjoy growing in it.
