To the mods: I could not find a landrace category when posting so please move this to the appropriate place if required. I’m sure there’s plenty of landrace posts elsewhere on the site.
As the title says, I am looking for anyone growing or breeding and documenting landrace strains in a video format.
I need to clarify that I am asking about YouTube or similar site because I am an old timer and don’t use Facebook or any similar social media. If it turns out social media is the only place to find such grows, I suppose I will have to get out of my rocker and get with the times.
I just find those short-attention-span sites incredibly annoying and I don’t expect to gain much information from a 20 or 30 second video.
I understand there may be some sites that I would have to pay for and I am open to that as long as there are good growers or breeders with landrace plants.
FYI - I am already subscribed to Jade Nectar on YouTube, if you’re interested in landraces you really need to see some of his videos. He’s all outdoor and some greenhouse, but anyone else doing indoor would be awesome!
Any sites that require you to pay just to learn something, I’d advise avoiding
There’s SO MUCH free info out there, you should only ever have to pay to see exclusive Patreon content of a certain person or breeder, but NEVER should you have to pay to just learn stuff in general
I am familiar with strain hunters and found it fairly entertaining but don’t they represent Greenhouse? I’m a little wary of that company and have grown a handful of their gear, mostly completely meh! Credit where credit is due, I did get two nice phenos of super lemon haze in one pack about 10 years ago or more.

That’s exactly what I’m talking about, someone looking for a little support on Patreon or something similar. Not looking for instructions as much as wanting to follow someone else’s grow but in video format. I haven’t found many landrace grows In video form yet.
Yes, “Strainstealers” (let’s say it accurately), Greedhouse, and Arjan are all the same thing. They go to foreign countries, find great strains, trade feminized seed for beautiful landraces, then go home and hoard the landraces producing only feminized hybrids.
Those are the guys.
Stick around here and read some. There is a very large population of landrace growers here who are happy to share knowledge.
Thanks for confirming, that’s about the same perspective most experience growers have about GH. After watching a few of those episodes, I developed a real dislike for that Arjan (sp?) guy - He just seems like such a phoney cretin.

There are great growers of auto flowers and photo periods online, I guess we just don’t have the Landrace presence yet.
Cali green, terpy highs, and cltv… haha jk YouTube is mostly just content creators but I guess that’s social media in general. People are looking for clicks and follows and essentially endorsements so probably not going to find great land race cannabis information on there. But there is a guy in the Middle East I believe Afghanistan that has a cool little channel. Pak and Afghan cannabis seeds he basically just shows his native cannabis and opium plants growing half the time I can’t understand him. Member of the Taliban
Where are you guys getting this info that Strain Hunters are “stealing” anything from anyone? . My understanding is that they are compensating the farmers they get genetics from, & the work they’re doing is of WAY more importance than most everyone else who’re just chucking polyhybrids ad nauseum
@RookieBuds If you actually watch the videos they tell you. Those people are far back away from towns and once their seed is gone that landrace is gone. Arjan leaves them with feminized seeds.
Arjan and team did a really bad thing to cannabis by bringing Amsterdam polyhybrids to places with indigenous cultivars; the result is that a lot of those places now have shit like Lemon Skunk and Church crossed into them now, and people who want those original genetics without Greenhouse shit crossed in can’t find them as easily. I’m not saying they globally destroyed the landrace population of cannabis, but everywhere they go it gets a big infusion of, “meh,” from these guys.
Strain Hunters is a bit of a fun watch. It’s just that they are well known for genetically destroying/polluting Landrace Canna. Lines in multiple countries even. Aryan & Franco = Trainwreck/Dumpster Fire
Just some people’s opinion. A lot of seed breeders have fu(ked up. Those 2 are just really high on the ole shit list.
Although GHS’ “The Church” and their version of “White Rhino” were nice.
Check out “Afghan Landrace” on youtube and “afghan landrace seeds” on instagram. It aint in english but it is inspiring. The amount of varieties is amazing, some of the plants are so gorgeous. The translations get me cracked up sometimes, “dead animale” im like hell yeah I love something with some stank on it!
Be wary if it’s the same Afghan and Pakistani people I’m thinking of there scammers if it is not them then fair doos just I mind someone ordered from em awhile back on riu and didn’t get jack unfortunately
